Dryer wont dry, no heat
Hi,
If you are having problems with your
gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor
goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working
properly.
if
you dryer is gas check out this gas

If you have an electric dryer, you can
have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to
heat.

Samsung B1215J Door Error
It sounds like the same problem I had with mine, eventually I ended up pulling down on the door release chord so hard it snapped off inside! I've fixed it now so please read on...
WARNING!
Before doing any of the following make sure you unplug the machine (or at least switch it off at the wall socket).
I got around the door problem by taking the top off the machine and then reaching down inside to the small white latch which the yellow chord hooks onto and then simply pushing down on it with a screw driver (you could do it by hand if you get your hand down far enough).
Ok so with the door open and soaking wet towels removed I set about removing the door seal from the outer rim of the machine (it's easy enough to remove, just ease your way around the edge tugging a bit as you go!). The seal is held on tight with a wire band which stretches tight with a spring, when you have loosened the rubber enough to reveal this take it off in order to completely free the outer edge from the machine. It is not necessary to remove the entire seal, you just need to be able to reach inside to get a hand to the door release mechanism (with the machine unplugged!). Remove the two screws retaining the release mechanism and then reach in and pull the mechanism through the gap in the seal.
Check the wires - I'm guessing they have probably burnt out at the connection point (at least this is what had happened to mine). Carefully remove each of the four wire connectors (taking note of which one connects to each pin). Now at this point you'll need to ***** the extent of the damage to the connectors and release mechanism. I made mine safe by using lots of electrical insulation tape however you might need to purchase a new door release mechanism and connector(s). You should be able to find a replacement mechanism online (about £45 as I write this) but you might need to make a few calls if you also need to replace the connectors.
How the connectors get to this state I'm not too sure, I suspect it might either be from the connector getting wet or possibly the connector overheats from the mechanism being stuck on somehow.
If you can rewire the connectors safely so there is no chance of shorting then simply re-assemble everything in reverse order. The hardest part I found was getting the wire band back on as it's quite a fiddle!
Good Luck! : )
My built in smeg wd16ba
Repeat what you have done and see if any wires were accidentely removved specially of the water level sensor. If so connect them once again . remove the plug from the power and reset the machine holding down pause with power plug in..
Checck tthe drain valve once again if the wires have shorted
The water won't drain from the machine and stops
E1 Water loss safety device
E2 Anti-spilling device (only outside washing program)
E4 NTC water in short circuit or interrupted
E5 No load
E6 No drain
E10 Motor overcurrent
E11 Motor control triac in short circuit or interrupted
E12 Tachometer
E13 PTC door block
E14 NTC dryer in short circuit or interrupted
E - Interface communication problem – mother board
E - Card hardware malfunctioning
NTC stands for negative temperature coefficient, the temperature sensor which is built into the heating element. These don't often go wrong but
it is worthwile checking it plus the continuity of it's wiring to the
module. Could well be another module failure, which are quite common on
these machines.
My smeg washing machine stopped half way threw
It is a code for draining problem. Pop the filter cap at the bottom front of the machine then drain the water through the emergency drain hose into a shallow pan or basin. If emergency drain hose is not present, place the pan or basin in such a way that it catches the water when the filter is removed. Remove the filter by turning it counterclockwise and clear it from any debris that might be blocking the water from draining out properly.
Once the filter is cleared, screw it back into place and plug the emergency drain hose then stuck it in and reinstall the filter cap.
Fill the machine with water then manually drain it by pulling the end of the drain hose and placing it into the basin. In this manner, you will now if the drain hose is clogged or not. Make sure the drain hose is not clogged or kinked and water flows properly down the drain hose.
You can tell that the drain pump is not working and needs to be replaced if the filter is clear, the drain hose is not clogged/kinked and water is flowing perfectly during the manual draining.

Hello I have a Smeg
Hi Eileen , there is usually 2 main causes for this type of problem
1. your sink u-bend is starting to clog up ( use a good quality drain cleaner ( mr muscle etc )
2. your sink is syphoning back into the washing machine ( purchase an anti syphon valve from B&Q or homebase/home depot )
hope this helps
On display E6? WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
Hello, the issue is either that the filter at the front bottom has some particles in
it. if you have cleaned this then remove the outlet pipe at the back
and run water through it. If that works ok then the only thing left is
the pump. I've been informed by Smeg that it would probably mean a
replacement pump is needed. One thing to try after cleaning the pipes
and filter is to get a low level bucket and put the end of the outlet
pipe into it to let the water drain off. So long as the bucket is at a
low level it will allow the machine to drain off. Then try switching
the machine off for a few minutes, then back on and running another cycle.
Last thing to check is that there is no blockage inside the machine
where the water emptys through the hole in the rubber at the front. If
none of that works then have a chat to SMEG support at this page:
Thanks
Broken catch
what has happened is that the ridiculously flimsy plastic that the catch spring pushes against has snapped off. I tried getting it plastic welded but still too weak finaly I took off the door unscrewed the transparent central part(remembering to keep the little black plastic rod at the top that operates the microswich when the door closes then snapped off a piece of hacksaw blade about15 mm long and put it where the plastic had been. I carefully lifted the end of the spring over the blade and while holding it screwed back the transparent part so that it held the blade in place. Works really well!
Dryer doesn't warm up
either the red/ orange wire to the high side limit switch is burnt off !1 of the limit switch itself is fried
