How do you get into the mixer

To gain access to the gear housing you will need a small flat bladed screwdriver and a 15mm A/F hexagon bar (Allen key). Insert the screwdriver into the small rectangular slot located at the front end of the base plate. Insert the hexagonal bar into the recess on the base plate. With the screwdriver, gently release the plastic retaining finger by deflecting it towards the rear of the machine at the same time turning the hexagon bar clockwise to release the bayonet locking mechanism. The base plate can then be lifted free of the mixer body. The retaining screw located immediately below the base plate and to the rear of the opening can be removed to enable the motor assembly to be slid rearwards BUT I haven't yet worked out how to disconnect the switch from the motor to enable complete removal.
