first you need the radio. second you need rg58coax and an antenna third you need a vehicle to put the antenna on You should get a cigarette lighter power plug to run electricity to the radio. fourth, you should figure a spot to mount it in your vehicle thats out of the drivers way yet able to change channels on it without stretching . You may need an swr meter to check your antenna match before you talk on it. Get a friend that knows how to do this for you .

what you do is look at your meter,then key the and say something . Turn the variable all the to the left ,look at the meter and say something . Now turn the variable all the way to the right and say something . which ever way is best leave it on that setting .

Make sure the antenna has a good gound at its base and make sure nothing is touching the whip or the coil and make sure the coil is not too close to anything metal.

first off if you don't have the proper equipment to do this you will have a cobra 150gtl dx used in the box that you can use for a chock block. turn the wrong can and you will never be able to get it back to working order.

I have this manual. I looked online at the Cobra site for a digital copy, and the manual for the CXT225 is a very close match. I checked it page by page and only found one small difference in the section on charging the battery. (Don't leave it on the charger more than 24 hours).
