Cobra 29 nw ltd classic key up with out a mic what is the problem what component is bad
If it "keys up" without a mic plugged in, try plugging the mic into the radio and see if it stops. Some radios require the mic to be plugged into it to operate properly. If it is keyed up with the mic plugged into it, try unplugging the mic and see if it stops. If it does stop when you unplug the mic, either the switch in the mic is stuck/went bad or there is a wire shorted in the mic cord to radio plug. Make sure pins 3 and 4 on the mic plug are not shorted. A continuity meter will tell you. If the mic is keyed, pins 3 and 4 will show a short, if the mic is not keyed, pins 3 and 4 should not show a short. If the mic is functioning normally but the radio is still keyed up then there is something in the radio that is shorted.
My cobra microtalk cxt450 will
pull the batteries out, slam them ******* a solid surface. put 'em in, let 'em charge. if that doesn't bring 'em back buy new bats.also, use a voltmeter to make sure the charger was getting voltage.
Good luck!
Voltage regulator
It is very likely that the reverse polarity diode inside the radio is shorted, usually because the radio was connected up incorrectly.
Modulation adjustment cobra 142 gtl
Generally the higher your mic gain is set, the higher the modulation level. You want to avoid splatter by not setting the mic gain too high.
Rf power output fail test on my cobra 29 lx
' Move the antenna angled forward ' Freightliner cascadias have powered driver and pass windows plus a thermostat inside the mirror arm ,The motors and electrical wires produce a EMF bubble that will disfigure the RF and absorb the energy. If you mounted the antenna to the mirrors arm with a bracket, just keep pushing it forward untill it passes the test.
Constant RX mode on Cobra Microtalk Walke Talke
I have the same walkie talkies and on mine I can hold down the mode/lock button and it will come off of the Rx mode. Also, you should be able to press the talk button and it will come off of the Rx mode.

Where to i find the dead key pod on a Cobra 2000 Gtl cb Radio
Most likely, you have no 'voice' signal coming from the microphone. The MODulation control did not turn itself.
Check for signal from the shielded or white wire from the mike.
A capacitor could have shorted in the modulation limiter circuit, limiting the modulation to 0%.
Partial rx\tx stuck on a micro talk Cobra handheld
I am not sure just what is stuck, the button or the switch itself. If it is the button, try swabbing it with a Qtip soaked in Isopropyl alcohol to loosen any grease or dirt that may be causing the problem. You might want to open the case and remove the guts, being careful not to break any wires. If the button can be removed, clean it thoroughly and put the thing back together.
If the switch is shot, then you probably should just purchase another radio. Unless you are a micro surgeon, you probably won't be able to replace the switch yourself. A new radio is less expensive than taking yours to a shop for repair.
I have a d 104 with a t g8u stand. I have wired the plug 1 shield 2 white 3 red 4 black for a cobra radio. The mic keys up but will not audio. What can I check ?
First of all, unless you have an amplified base, the D104 will not work very well with a low impedance input, which is what most, if not all modern Cobra's use.
If your base is amplified, then check the internal battery. The pin out you are using sounds about right. You may also want to adjust the control on the bottom of the mic to see if that helps.
There is a possibility that your mic cartridge has been subjected to moisture. This will kill this type of mic cartridge and if it is fairly old, then you may have to replace the cartridge. New, but not original cartridges, are available on EBAY. I bought a few several years ago and they work very well. There are also Electret cartridges available, but they will not sound like the D104. It makes the D104 something completely different, but you might like the sound.
