Ok first contact the manufacturer and ask them to send you an installation CD (OS CD).

then run those two commands:

click start
click run
type cmd and hit ok
type chkdsk and reboot (no need for OS CD but it will take time until the computer boot up)
do the same steps and type this time
sfc /scannow (that needs the OS CD).

How can I change the password on my computer?

Robin Guzy,
You will need to start the computer and tap the F2 key to enter the bios. Tab to where it reads the diskette drive and choose to disable the diskette drive. If you have a diskette drive you will need to replace it. Not many uses for diskette drives these days.
For the password, you will need to try and remember the password or use a password recovery disk. This disk would have been created by you. If you did not create a password recovery disk you are going to either format and reinstall Windows or search the internet for programs that will recover your password.
Thank You,

Diskette Failure F1 to continue or F2 to run setup??

Your computer is looking for a Floppy diskette drive. If you entered the BIOS ( setup menu ) and selected default settings to be applied it selects the first boot-table drive as the floppy diskette drive. You have to disable the floppy drive if you don't have one.

On my pc monitor appears " Floppy diskette seek failure"

To remove the message just go to bios, press f2 when you turn on your computer, press enter in boot menu, set first boot in hdd and second boot in cdroom (using + - key)and disable boot from floppy by pressing the space bar
Go to advance and if there is any setting about swap or seek from floppy make it disable

Hope it helps

OptiPlex GX150 series. Diskette Drive 1 Seek Failure. Primary Hard drive 1 Not found. Secondary Hard drive 1 not found.

Sounds like a hard drive failure. It is fairly easy to purchase a new hard drive and put it in, but then you must have the software to re-install everything. If you are a bit concerned about doing these things, take your PC to a PC Repair shop and they will install a new hard drive and put a new operating system on it. Depending on how old the Desktop is, you may want to buy a new PC as the old motherboard may fail on you in the next 6-months to a year. Check your gut on this.

I have an old microsoft works program. there is

You shouldn't have to do anything - if the diskettes and the disk unit are in working order they should appear in My Computer the moment you put the diskette in. If they don't (or, worse, the A unit isn't even present there all the time then the disk unit is dead, find another one.
Or find another pc with a functioning unit and copy all the files from all of them to an USB memory stick and open them in whatever pc and with whatever program you want.

Restarts or reboots screen reads "diskett 0 drive failure"

1024 X 768 is the ideal setting for a 17" Monitor. Are you still getting sound output despite the error message? If no sound then your integrated sound card has failed, you will have to install anew one in the PCI Slot, otherwise forget about the warning & keep listening. You could try visiting the Official website to see if any driver updates have been released till date and refresh the drivers(sound) installation...............sodeep
PS: Check your Floppy drive? If not working simply disconnect and likewise in the BIOS if REQUIRED.

Can't reboot dell 4100 dimension desktop

First put the hdd installation cd into the cd drive and try to boot. This should install the hdd driver as well as start formatting the new hdd. After the drive is formatted take out the hdd cd & insert the Windows installation cd into the drive. Boot. Windows should start installing on your new drive. After Windows is installed check the Dell support site for updated drivers for your system. Install drivers as needed. Any other software you had on your old drive will need to be reinstalled to the new drive. Hope this helps & please rate my answer. Thanks.
