Yes, check your timer or clock if the clock is set on automatic it will not work, needs to be on manuel. or it may need the oven ignitor, its berry sensitive its the part nest to the oven burner on the back.

My Viking oven will not lite, the igniter glows, but it will not lite. I have to turn on the 4 stove top burners and then it will lite. Also, when the oven reaches temperature and the therastat shuts it...

Hi,
That sounds like you have too high of gas pressure which keeps the oven gas valve from opening...turning on the burners lowers the gas pressure enough to allow the gas valve to open. this is a saftey feature on many gas valves.
To stop that you will need to install a gas pressure regulator which will hold back the gas pressure so the valve can open.

Here is a tip that I wrote about regulators and them failing on the low side, but it will give you and idea what I am talking about and what you need to install in the line to your range.

I want to remodell my kechen and I want to get the oven out

there is ashut off valve coming out of your floor or wall shut that off the handle shoud be crossway if the valve is staight in line it is on, if you don,t have a shut off behind your stove it might be down stairs, or you might have to shut off the main when that is shut off loosen your line and move it out,[reminder], when you instsall the stove and hook the line back up and you turn your gas back on take some soapy water and check the lines for any leaks thank you.

We self cleaned and the 2 days ago and the door is still locked. Help

The lock is operated by a solenoid and may have stuck due to friction or goo around the magnet core. Try bumping the stove or lifting it 2 inches in front and dropping to the floor. 2 inches will not break anything. There may be a mechanical timer in the self-cleaning circuit... is your gas stove still plugged in and showing signs of power such as ability to ignite top burners electrically? If the timer has failed the door lock solenoid is still activated and there could be a slight hum. Try unplugging the range and see if the door can be opened. The thermal interlock should be free to let the lock retract. If that works replace the timer motor. If solid state (no timer motor) replace circuit board with timer relay.

We have a GE gas oven/stove top and the stove top is lighting as well as the broiler but we can not get the oven to heat up. What do you suggest we try?

i just moved and our stove in the new place doesnt bake things right. it seems that the top coil doesnt come on. its very difficult to bake anything. seems to come up to temp for pre heating, but only the bottom coil comes on. If you put it on broil, then the top coil gets hot. that works fine. tired of burning pizzas and biscuits. can anyone help with a cheap fix? dont have alot of cash.

I have a gas oven whirlpool sf3020ekq2 buners work but oven won't

Sounding like your hot surface ignitor is getting bad. What I would like for you to do is open the oven and take the bottom panel off. This is so you can see the hot surface ignitor. Turn the oven on and look at the hot surface ignitor it is down on the bottom right next to the burner assembly. Does it start to glow and turn cherry red? This ignitor isn't too hard to replace couple of small screws and two wires. Will have to cut the wires so disconnect the unit from the 120 volt plug. Now if it starts to glow and get cherry red hot then the gas valve is sticking and it is the one going bad. That is a little tougher to replace. Turn the gas off at the source and get your wrenches unscrew the gas valve small space so if you want remove the door by just pulling it off the hinges.

If unit is old and you don't like it anyway maybe santa would be good to you and replace the stove oven. The gas valve is about 60 bucks or so and hot surface is about 20 bucks. let me know how it turns out.. ken
