I have the usb plugged into my computer & other end in camera. & camera says (access) after I've pressedmiddle button (menu set) but no pictures will transfer onto computer. theres just a zig zag flash thing on screen

The only way is copy pictuers from internal memory to the external memory using the camera Copy pictures or videos: 1 Press the Review button, then press the Menu button. 2 Press to highlight Copy , then press the OK button. 3 Press to highlight an option: PICTURE or VIDEO-copies the current picture or video. EXIT-returns to the Review menu. ALL-copies all pictures and videos from your selected storage location to the other location. 4 Press the OK button.
NOTE: Pictures and videos are copied, not moved. To remove pictures and videos from the original location after copying, delete them

With the latest iPod Nano model, you can set a four-digit code and lock all intruders from accessing your iPod. In order to use the device's functions again, you need to enter the correct code. However, if you happen to lose or forget the code, you will need to find another way to unlock your iPod Nano.
1 Plug the iPod USB cable into the bottom of your iPod Nano. Plug the other end of the USB cable into a free USB port on your Mac or PC computer. Open the iTunes program by using the Dock on a Mac or the Start menu on a PC.

Is your Micro USB cable a "B" or "A"?Micro USB "B" is for data/charging. Micro USB "A" is for charging only and will not work for any kind of data transfer (pins not connected). Try all the different USB Ports on your computer, sometimes certain ports can 'glitch' and not recognize the device that you've plugged in. If you've tried plugging it in all the ports and your computer still hasn't recognized the camera, re-install the driver software for the Olympus SP800UZ.
If you have the original USB cable that came with the camera, there is a rubber flap on the side of the camera. Open that flap and the small end of the USB cable will fit into the plug located there.

The C1033 does NOT charge batteries. By plugging it into the computer you've actually drained the batteries faster since the camera has to spend juice communicating with the computer (even if only to say it has nothing to say). Put in a fresh set of batteries, and next time don't leave it connected to your computer.

Just figured this one out. Man, they don't make it easy. I'm borrowing my roommate's PowerShot A510 and since it has a USB port going out, I'd assume I could simply connect the camera to my PC and access my images directly. Almost every other camera I've seen will register itself to Windows as a straight USB connection (prompting the Windows screen asking how you want to open the connection - 'open folder' etc). This one just sits dead quiet about things :)
If you've just bought this camera at a garage sale or are borrowing it or for whatever other reason do not have the "bundled" software and driver CD or have the camera's serial number, do not bother trying to find windows drivers or try to obtain any software from Canon. You won't get very far.
FINALLY found the solution in the User's Manual (which was free thank God). In the User Guide, page 107 (I'll paraphrase): 1. Put camera in Play mode (the switch on the back (green arrow in green box) 2. Press Menu button (center one of the three along the bottom of the view screen) 3. In the 1st menu option (Play Menu, again green arrow in box highlighted), use the wheel button to scroll down to highlight "Transfer Order". Press Set (center of wheel). 4. You should now see "Transfer Order (DPOF) at the top of the screen and "Qty. of images 0". 5. Below "Qty of images 0" you'll see "Order", "Mark All", and "Reset". Order lets you select individual images; Mark All marks all current images for transfer; and Reset is reset. Press Set to choose.
Note: pressing the Menu button while selecting images brings you back to this main screen. If you are already at this main screen and you aren't ready to do your transfer yet, DON'T press the Menu button from this screen as it will initiate the transfer to your computer. Not a horrible thing, but might cause a mini freak-out.
7. Once you're selected the images you want to transfer, from the main Transfer Order window (now showing "Qty. of images" with a count of the images you selected), press the Menu button.
8. You'll see a white progress bar at the bottom of the screen. Don't worry! it's not deleting files or something bad.. (my first thoughts :) .. 9. Go to your PC and Voila! the Windows AutoPlay screen is now active! 10. Proceed with normal Windows USB operations (transferring at least, I didn't try any deletion).
I hope this helps somebody else out there who spent the last 3 hours trying to dig through internet hell to get this to work.
Atm, this is as much as I know so I probably don't have any good answers for any questions. Sorry :))
1) There's no driver installed, or the installation failed. ( A notification will say so when you plug it in ). Be shure the driver is setup properly.
2) The setting on the camera is set to "WebCam" and not "USB Disk"
In the settings menu, (Not the photo menu) on the camera there will be a USB Function option; this sets the camera up to behave like a cardreader and set the plugged in camera as an aditoional disk drive.
The other setting for the USB Function is "Web Cam" or "Digital Camera"; this will set the plugged in camera to behave as a USB Web Camera accessable to tv tuners or other recording or chat software.
To test, open the "My Computer" display of available hard drives, Disc Drives, Floppy Drives, and Memory Card Drives, then plug in the camera into the USB connector. A USB signal sound will alert you and a new drive should appear on the My Computer list, that's the camera.
If you don't get a new drive, then unplug the USB connector and enter the Menu on the camera, look for a USB function menu and set it to Disk drive, or whatever is not Web Cam function.
Note: This is for PC, and not Apple type computers, but I'm shure an Apple computer would be similar.
