System error (o.i.s)
Hi,
This error is for the optical image stabilisation.
Generally the camera should be ok after your turn it on and off again.
The error you are getting is because either the OIS has malfunctioned
or is stuck.
I suggest that you take out its memory stick, the
battery etc and keep the camera like that for about 15 minutes. Then
only reinsert the battery (fully Charged) and try to power on.
Try a little tap ( but not too hard) on the side of the camera....this
might realign if the OIS has got misaligned. If you are lucky, you would get if fixed.
If the problem still persists, you need to contact Panasonic.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

The .MOV files are apple quicktime files. you can download quicktime or install K-lite codec pack, which will let you open the files in Windows Media player. It may even let edit them in Windows Movie-maker. Cheers.
Lumix FS-15 "System error (focus)"
I have the same issue with my 3 month old Lumix DMC FS15 plus it won't focus and gives the error message to "turn camera off and then on" This doesn't fix it.
Bottom line fix: Don't buy this camera again and don't recommend other buy it.
I want to purchase Tele converter ,atleast 2x. i am in to Birding
Googling the item gives this info : 'all the zoom range you could ever need (27-486mm, 35mm equivalent). However, if that's still not enough there is also an optional 1.7x tele converter available'.
However, if you are 'really into birding', a DSLR with interchangeable lenses would serve you far better, as the optics are of a far higher quality, with a greater resolving power.
System error: zoom message with Panasonic Lumix FS15 camera
I had the same problem, i switched the camera on in capture mode and zoomed in and applied a little pressure to the lens which made a slight click but retracted and has worked fine since. I may of just been lucky but the camera is fully functional again, could be worth a try.
Why does my Panasonic DMCFZ28 take pictures when I push the zoom lever?
Hi,
I suspect the snap key is shot circuited, use contact cleaner spray in the click button often press it to get ride of possible carbon shot circuit between the switch. in some cases the processor will malfunction, and if moisture or water particles gone inside, you must open the cam and clean the motherboard thoroughly with PCB cleaning agent.
Digital zoom won't retract fully
If you've powered on and off the device multiple times and it still won't retract it's likely the delicate mechanism that retracts the lens was damage. Generally that is not repairable...
