GE X500 Digital Camera Questions & Answers
G.e x500 usb driver
You don't need a driver. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as
Picasa.

Need drivers for ge x500 camera
On newer operating system I think this one gets recognized but if it doesn't for you you may have to run the setup cd you should have got with the camera. That will install any files or drivers needed as well as the image editing software. The main page for it is here:http://www.general-imaging.com/us/Digital-Camera.aspx?id=1962And the support page is here (where all the file downloads are):http://www.general-imaging.com/us/supportDetail.aspx?id=1962Just go there and click on what you want along the left side of the screen. Make sure it is showing the x500.If my links won't work then you need to go to http://www.general-imaging.comClick on our cameras then the picture of your camera. For support stuff just click on the support link and chose the picture again. That will get you to the same pages as the first links. The software should detect when the camera is plugged into the usb. I do have one canon that refuses the play nice and won't do this so I just use a card reader to transfer the pictures right off of the cards. On the same page is contact information for support don't be afraid to call them and ask them anything.
