Losing time settings

When it lose time settings? When you gets connected with internet or power off your PC?

If it is case of power off your PC, then it's all about your CMOS battery of your motherboard. It looks like a small button type battery. Generally it supplies power to PC clock when your PC is turned off or power off. BIOS settings also gets power form this battery. You have to change it if this is the reason. It takes little price.
To change CMOS battery please read:
http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000239.htm

If it happens in case of When connected with Internet, It changes date and time automatically if internet time zone selected with "automatically synchronize with an Internet time server".
To deactivate it like windows xp ( go to control panel, select date and time properties, select Internet Time tab and unmarked "Automatically synchronize with an internet time server" check box.
I am adding a image of that. 6_25_2012_9_15_44_am.jpg
Click apply and ok to save changes. Now your date and time will not be changed.

I have to set the date everytime I switch it on

On this camera you have a supplemental litte battery that is just beside the AA batteries. If you pull on the little tab that says CR 1220 you will find a battery that looks like a battery watch. Just replace it, go back into your date/time settings and you should be good to go! It worked for me!

Why do I lose date/time on Fuji FinePix S6500 digital camera when I change batteries

You lose the date/time because the camera has no power to it to keep the settings. Basically don't leave the batteries out if you want it to keep the date/time. On the other hand it will just sit and run the batteries down just sitting there off. It is a bit annoying but that's why. Most cameras store an internal charge so they can keep the date/time but it is not supposed to last very long, it was designed so you could swap out dead batteries without having to reset the time/date every time. If it is happening on simple battery changes it means something may be wrong with the camera.

When i push the on/off button on my camera, the lens will open and the camera wil either not come on or come on for a second then turnoff- but the lens will stay open? some times i will have to enter in...

First, the battery should be charged fully, and it should be a LiIon battery pack from Kodak, not alkaline AA or NiMH AA.

Also, if it is losing the date, there is sometimes an internal battery that has to be changed at the factory for $80 or so.

That's the way my 14.1 Megapixel camera is.

One can check with Kodak.com to make sure though:

Theres a small back-up battery located on the main
power board. It's not a DIY project to replace this battery.

Canon A470 The date and time menu keeps popping up every time I switch on the camera despite setting the date and time.

There is another battery next the the AA battery under a little cover marked CR1220. That is the battery size. If that battery is dead, or has never been installed then every time you change the AA batteries the camera will forget the time and date. Try to get one from a specialty store that turns over its inventory quickly and you may find that you will only change this battery every 2 or 3 years.

Date/time stamper will not print correctly

mine is doing the same thing. I read that the 3V battery may need to be changed.... so I changed the 3V and all four AA batteries and hit reset and am still experiencing the same as you. Random **** printing when display seems okay. Never same stuff twice. Very frustrating.

AA Battery Drain...just discovered a 3V battery in my camera

Usually the 3v battery holds the date and time in your camera. A lot of time with digital cameras you have to remove the batteries when there not in use for a long period of time to prevent the draining from happening.

Do you have regular AA batteries to see if the meter changes? That would be the best way to see it the camera is reporting the correct battery life.
