That sounds like you have one of them fancy water saving outfits with a diverter valve that dumps the pump water continuosly over the clothes. Weirdest washer I ever saw. Could be the solenoid that opens the drain pump has failed. Don't know too much about em but I do have the service manual. Post your model number for a more precise answer. I would look at the water inlet valve. Sometimes if one of the solenoids is defective it can let some water leak back into the tub if it isn't closing completely. It's not that the water isn't draining completely, it's that additional water is being allowed in. This is a common reason for water being found in the tub after spinning. The solenoids can be checked for continuity using a multimeter. No continuity would indicate a faulty solenoid. See the photo for reference. Hope this helped and best wishes.

No boot on a top loader, the tub seal and bearing are gone, water leaked from the tub seal, rusted the bearing and quite possibly the milk stool and transmission. Check your warranty, the transmission may have a 5 year limited warranty, usually it will include the tub seal and bearing with the kit.

A defective pressure switch can interfere with the cycles that depend upon the switch to indicate when water has filled or emptied from the tub. It can also result in underfilling or overfilling of the tub. The switch routes current from the timer control to the temperature switch and the water inlet valve when the tub needs to be filled. Once full, the pressure switch cuts the current and reroutes it to the motor on the timer control to continue the cycle.
