You can usually download the driver from the manufacturer's website. But I don't what driver you need because you haven't provided any info on your printer.

Usb to serial cable trying to get to work with epson TM-T881V serial printer

Chuck , did you plug in the USB to Serial Cable into your computer and hope for the best or did you install the software drivers required to get the P.C to talk to the cable device ?.
The link below explains the process on windows 7 it is not exactly the same device so the download web site will be different or you may have the driver cd disk provided with your device.
Chuck, you may even have a different operating system to windows 7 as you did not provide the model of cable or type of operating system.

Cant install with vista 64bit.........any suggest!

Hi,

The drivers for your HP product are already included in the Windows Vista operating system. You do not need to download drivers or install using old CD to use the product.

When you connect the product to the computer, Windows Vista detects the hardware and automatically installs the correct driver. A notification lets you know when installation begins and when it is complete. You do not have to download any software or insert the product CD.
  1. Turn the product on.
  2. Connect the Universal Serial Bus (USB) cable to the product and to the computer.
  3. A Your devices are ready to use window might display on the screen. If the window displays and does not close automatically, close the window.
Your basic Vista driver is now installed.

I purchased a new computer having WINDOWS 7 as operating system. I am having printer HP Officejet 4355 All-in-One and CD drive supplied for this is not compatible to WINDOWS 7 OS. What to do?

I think this printer don't have the cd software available for Windows 7, 32 or 64 bits. But you can use it with the plug & play feature of Windows. Just turn the printer on and plug the USB cable (try cables of less than 6ft and a port in the back of the PC, also avoid the use of any USB HUB). Windows will automatically recognize the printer and install an embedded driver. You will see in the control panel under printer and devices if the unit was successfully added

Error 0x0000002when trying to install hp photosmartC5100[printer C5180] all in one printer to a toshiba laptop with vista

Seems like its a common problem.
Are you using a usb cable direct connection or a serial to usb

based in microsoft's forum
http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2298899&SiteID=17

Try this:

1. Make sure the only printer connected is your hp printer that you are having problems

2. From your control panel go to system then go to device manager

3. Under universal serial bus controllers, look for usb printer or any usb printing device you see there and uninstall it.

4. Disconnect your usb cable from the printer and your computer

5. Uninstall the driver from the add/remove programs or hp's driver software uninstaller

6. Restart your computer

7. Download the latest driver from hp's website or use the cd installer

8. Plug in the usb cable from both ends and restart again the computer
