Repair Homelite AP320 pump. Pump housing frozen and broken

AGITATOR: If the agitator won't turn, the likely cause is "Lid Switch" because if the lid switch is defective, the washing machine may not agitate or function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washing machine to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.

HI. You may have a problem with the water pump such as a frozen pulley or a broken impeller. If that's the case, replace the water pump. Note: if you have a belt driven washer, check the belt(s) for cracks, as this would be a perfect time to replace the belt(s) if needed.

A broken impeller will wobble inside the pump housing, causing loud noises during operation. This is a strong indicator of pump failure. This will, also, cause leakage as well. the integrity of the pump housing will be compromised, leading to this leakage.

It sounds like the pump impeller is impaired. A sure way to tell is take the impeller off or out of the housing and see if pump works by itself. Lots of pumps do this when they have been frozen. Hope this helps.
