Most trimmers require a mix of regular unleaded fuel and two cycle oil...the ratio is usually 50:1...you can purchase the oil in convienient packages that allow you to add the whole package to 1 gallon of fuel to obtain the proper mix

Buy the best 2stroke oil you can afford. The high revs of the engine require very good oil. The engine will thank you for it. Stihl 2 stroke oil is excellent.

Mcculloch t 240 petrol will not start
If your petrol has been sitting in the machine for a long time then yes it is your petrol. Mix a new batch usually you cannot let that sit around for more than 30 days, I always try to use fresh mixes, usually that means making smaller batches unless you use your trimmer quite a bit, most people do not though and that's when problems arise.
