There is NO primer, your using an electric pole saw !

You can't........your using an electric chain saw !

There are three essential things to have with a small engine. 1/ Fuel 2/Spark 3/Timing Pull your spark plug and see if it is wet. Check to insure you have new fuel. Your problem may be in the diaphragm or plugged vents. Unplug vents and replace diaphragm if needed. . When the plug is pulled ground the plug to the outside of the piston. Pull your cord and see if you have spark. Replace plug with a new one. Timing may be off. Check your flywheel key to insure it is not sheared. If both are present and after you have determined that you did not flood it. Try again to start without pulling the choke. If it does not start then try by pulling with the choke on. It may also be that you have no compression. If it feels really easy to spin it might mean that your rings on the piston have collapsed. Time now to take it to a pro if this is the problem. Cost of this repair be prepared to buy a new one.

I would say you are not getting oil to the bar chain sprocket. Do you have enough bar oil in it ?

you have to loosen the bar then there should be a screw behind the bar or a slot in the bar to put a screw driver. turn till tight then you hold it there and tighten the bar back up

Illustrated Parts Lists: (IPLs) are fairly simple, on the underside of McCulloch saws is a black and yellow tag; the upper number (“Power Mac 320” 600021H) is the model, below it a serial number (11-18555). These 2 numbers are combined to create an IPL number (“Power Mac 320” IPL number = 11-600021H). The IPL number can be used to find the correct IPL for every McCulloch parts supplier I have found. If the parts supplier only list part numbers the proper IPL is the source for the part number.
Operators Manuals: are much more difficult. I have dialed this number many times (Contact Us - All McCulloch Products 1 (800) 521-8559) and have yet to get a satisfactory response. Please try this! If enough of us try they will fix it! HTH

I'm so confused. This is reported as a Poulan and McCulloch pole saw, which one? Is it a pole saw? That is the only 445 Poulan I can find. It is reported as an electric but has a fuel routing problem.

The fuel system routing is terrible, but it is all there is.
Fuel Routing follows:
Tank to carburetor (hose in tank with filter on free end)
Carburetor to primer (primer draws fuel from the tank through the carb)
Primer to fuel tank (returns any excess fuel to tank when pushed) HTH

The line with the filter needs to be long enough to reach all parts of the tank as the saw is moved. The return line is not a critical length probably mid tank. Do you have the filtered hose feeding the primer and not the carburetor? That will cause what you describe. HTH

The fuel filter is on the free end of a hose inside the fuel tank. Insert a hooked blunted wire through the filler port and gently withdraw the hose.

A gas engined saw has a clutch that can slip if overly oiled internally, but electric saws don't use a clutch. Most however, have a safety disconnect to the drive sprocket that shears or otherwise removes power to the chain while the motor runs. The worst problem can be a broken gear within the gearbox and requires dis-assembly to discover. Many modern saws use plastic gears in place of metal ones and are prone to failure. The fact that the chain turns when not under load would seem to eliminate the gearbox, but don't discount that until proven. Hope this helps!

The fuel metering needle in the lower carburetor chamber may have a bad rubber tip or the rubber diaphragm may be hard or cracked. McCullough fuel tanks vent through the cap (it should not have a gasket). Gravity plays no part in the carburetor fuel volume. Remove the spark plug (ignition off) and pull the engine through a few times without the choke on, but the throttle wide open to remove excess fuel in the crankcase (no smoking during this procedure). Make sure the plug is dry when you put it back. Hope this helps!
