Hi We have the Onkyo TX-SR605 and have been trying to preview 3-d on our Direct TV and new Samsung 55" 3D capable TV. However, the TV problem solver says that the receiver may not support 3D viewing. Our hook ups are HDMI. I thought that the 605 did support 3D. Can you advise? Thanks, Steve Wiley

No but you may be able to help me. I have the same amp and ps3. I have HDMI leads from both but cannot get sound or picture. I do get the set up menu which means it recognises the HDMI lead. How is yours set up ?

check your display section, is there any problem?

easiest fix is to take all hdmi straight to tv. then come out of tv with optical cable to your receiver. that way what ever your watching will automatically be sent to the receiver thru optical. you even will get dolby dig. also you can have audio from your tv when you dont want to use your surround. keeps receiver on one input also.

Yes it is. I have the 705. My room mate has the 605. Both AVR's will not have appreciable volume until 50 on the dial.
The dial in not linear. I don't know of anyone who has plotted the scaling of the volume control yet.
I have found much useful user info on avsforum.com. Owners post Q&A based on experiences.

Bypass most reviews say video area is still alittle shaky

The only remote that will definitely turn the sat subtitles on/off is the sat remote. The other subtitle buttons on the other remotes refer to the DVD subtitles and the subtitles generated by the tuner in the tv. The subtitle option is greyed out on the tv because you are not on the tv tuner.
