Usually VCRs do not offer specifically labelled tracking buttons as such, however they may incorporate tracking into their channel UP/DOWN buttons, both on the front of the main unit and/or remote. Some brands also offer V-LOCK (vertical lock or still image adjustment) (in pause mode during playback) to stabilise the image, reducing vertical jitter, which again can be adjusted as required using the same buttons as used for tracking. In most cases, pressing both CH UP and CH DOWN together while the tape is playing should centre track (revert back to auto tracking) the unit.

I am sure if your VCR has channel buttons on it, try pressing either one while a tape is playing. See if it affects the tracking at all. If it does, press both buttons together for 5 seconds or so, then release - auto/centre tracking takes over.

It costs nothing to try this, and it won't hurt your machine or your tapes.

How do I adjust tracking on 21 sylvania tv/VCR combo?

If it has not got a dedicated tracking button, try any of the keys that has an up and down combination, such as volume, or channel. Or any + and - keys.

Adjust tracking go on go video vr3930

Tracking will only adjust on the VCR and may only be on the original remote.

Note that if there is tape debris or black residue on posts and guides or even video head drum tracking will not adjust--any debris will cause tape to move away from the drum resulting in a tracking like issue---tape cleaners rarely resolve this.

Where is the tracking on this VCR toshiba w403?

On this unit there is no manual tracking button - it's done automatically by a special circuit that uses the special signal from the tracks themselves. If the tracking is bad then the heads are dirty and they don't pick that special signal.
Clean them with a special cleaning tape. If you can't source one the unit will have to be dismantled and the 4 heads will have to be manually cleaned with a q-tip moist with alcohol.
