The Computer cant open the USB Flash Drive. It said that it is not formatted so I try to Format the Flash drive via command prompt. The command prompt said "The first NTFS boot sector is unwriteable....

It should be the file system problem. Usually a usb drive should be formatted to FAT initially instead of NTFS. Recommend you try the USB on another computer and see if the problem still occurs. If yes, then try format it from Disk Management of your computer. If you can't format, use TestDisk (also a command line tool) to fix the file system error. You can also see from this blog post to learn more about the possible reasons or solution. Regards

Unaccessible harddrive, or password protection on

If you cant format or access a harddrive due to encryption, corruption, password or other reason,
WARNING! THIS WILL ERASE ALL FILES ON YOUR DRIVE!
The last effort can be to try to boot up your computer in DOS-mode,
with a software that totally wipes/overwrites the disks sectors.
The harddrive must be direct connected to the motherboard,
not by anykind off usb-cord or any usb-port.
using a freeware program called "KILLDISK".You can find the software if you go to WWW.GOOGLE.COM and search for KILLDISK.
it totally wipes your harddrives sectors, eliminating all corruptions.
It can also be used for erasing confidential information from drives.

Transcend Jf V30/ 32 gb flash drive. When saving data less than 4GB and after removal of flash drive most data are lost. What can I do ?

Files on a flash drive canbe corrupted if it is not removed from the USB port properly.
Before removing the flash drive click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon andthen click on the flash drive you want to remove and then remove the flashdrive when the computer message says it is Safe to remove.
To restore the flash drive to working order you need to format the flash drive,BUT you will lose the data stored on the flash drive.
If you need the data on the flash drive these WEB sites may help: -

Many times the pen drive can not be formatted or is not detected. If these problems occur and according to what you describe,The pen drive you are using has corrupted memory sectors. Its of no good use, if under warranty, go for a exchange from the service support or else Buy a new pen drive.

I cant seem to use my 320 gb mobile hard drive. when i connect it to the usb, my laptop reads it but i cant save files into it..help me please.

try to connect your device into your pc and then, try to save files again, if this doesnt work, try to reformat your hard drive, im sorry to say that all your previous files will be deleted upon the format. after this, make partitions to hard drive. then save some of your files into it. if that doesn't work either, try a disk scan to check if your hard drive has bad sectors.

My sandisk cruzer says it is not formatted. it contains all my documents but I cant open anything if i format it i will lose all my data help!!!

Possible Reasons:
1. Your USB flash is too old and can be corrupted with time went on. As you know no hardware can be life-long ever.
2. There are bad sectors in the specific area of the disk that is required for a file system, e.g. for a boot sector or the FAT table sector. Since such a drive is obviously not possible to use, Windows refuses to format it.
3. Sometimes, you cannot format the drive to the FAT file system if it has been formatted to a file system which is not recognized by Windows. Such a drive should be reformatted to NTFS first, and then to the FAT file system.

Solution:
Step 1: Try the problem USB on another computer (better be most common Windows OS). See if the device can be accessed normally. This way can clear the buffers and eliminate incompatibility. Sometimes it will let the error disappear and make the drive work normally again.
Step 2: If the first method still won't help. Try recovering the data with some data recovery programs first of all. If you are running Windows, you can use Data Recovery for Windows. For Mac OS X users, turn to Data Recovery for Mac
Step 3: After the files are recovered, then follow those steps to try format the error USB drive (connect the disk to your PC first). My computer -> Properties -> Manage -> Computer Management -> Storage -> Disk Management -> select the problem drive and then format it from here.
Step 4: It's not over. After formatting, try use the data recovery software recommended in #2 to re-scan the drive to see if you can harvest more data. Good luck!

Re: A Disk Read Error Occured. Press CTRL ALT DEL to restart

1 - Have you tried a different IDE cable?
If not give it a go and do a repair if needed again!

2 - You may have a corrupt MBR (master boot record)!! You will need to reformat and do Fdisk /mbr to delete the master boot record!! Save all data first as this will not allow you to access any of your data as all file location addresses are located in the MBR!!

3 - Your harddrive may have a bad sector get a zerofill tool(low level formatting tool)!! This will rewrite you HD's sectors putting them back to factory spec's!! Maxtors is called Maxblast you can get it from thier site!!

4 - or it could be a defective drive, but most read errors are due ot corrupt MBR or a bad sector!! Good Luck D.i.l.i.p
