Blurry pictures.... I noticed you were trying to help someone who had the fe-230 and their pictures were coming out blurry. I have not dropped my camera. When I zoom in and out the lens doesn't seem to act any different then it normally does. PLEASE HELP ME!!
Reset the camera and try taking pictures using by soft pressing the shutter instead of a hard press... on digital cameras, hard fast pressing will cause the picture quality to be not as good

This sounds remarkedly like a camera that has been dropped. Even by someone else! The odd noise it the can[mera trying to set the lens up and failing. The black screen is because the lens has not travelled the distance etc. multiple problems ! it needs a complete overhaul and may well be cheaper to ditch it and get a new camera
This would need to be serviced something is wrong with the auto focus and this is inside the lens housing. I would take it into a camera shop and have the examin the autofocus.
When I turn my camera on, the lens goes in and out a few times. Once it's finally on and I look at the screen, everything is blurry. When I take the picture, it's blurry too. If I try to use the zoom to adjust, the lens starts going in and out all crazy and won't adjust right.
I have had the same problem with my Kodak Z812 IS. It is caused by a bad image sensor, a costly repair unless it is still under warranty. Does it happen mostly with macro photos?
in any case where the lens makes a grinding noise, something is in the channel and causing the lens to not extend all the way... you will need to send to a repair shop
