To whom it may concern, Slightly blurred red/pinkish LCD screen when camera is switched on. If I look at pic's taken before this happened they look ok on LCD screen. 1 week ago I switched the camera on to use, checked battery level all ok and the view on the lcd screen was ok. 5 hours later switched on camera again and then lcd screen reflected the blurred red/pinkish LCD screen. If you take a photo now that is what is looks like on playback as well. Even the other modes on the selection dial seem to have this issue. Apart from that all seems ok. I tried a full factory restore, but to no avail, same problem. Had the camera for just over 3 years. Many thanks William

Do the pictures still look this way when they are downloaded to your computer or just when played back on the camera screen? Was the camera exposed to high heat (like being left in a hot car)?

I am having the same exact problem. I have tried the suggestions for fixing any barrel issues because I first thought that was what the problem was....those fixes were not successful with this issue. The LCD screen is basically black when turned on but you can catch a glimpse of reddish pink tones and outlines when in a brightly lit area. The same is seen in any photo taken since this problem arose. The pictures previously taken on the camera show up just fine on the screen, exactly how they should. When you take a new picture it shows up as a blurry reddish hued picture that you can't really even see except for the hues of reddish color and perhaps a few slight outlines of things. When the pictures are transfered to the computer they appear exactly the same... And, my camera hasn't been exposed to any high heat as far as I know (took pictures fine on Dec 29, 2010 and problem started around Jan 4, 2011...it had been in a drawer in the house until that date).

It may be fixable, but would be expensive. Probably time for a replacement - they do not seem to be very expensive second hand.

MY LAPTOP WONT GO ON AND THE BATTERY HAS A PINKISH LIGHT

The battery has a pinkish light or the laptop screen has a pinkish light? When the screen has a red or pinkish tint to it, and is black still, it is the LCD inverter that is the problem. The computer and the LCD screen work fine but you need to change the inverter. It happens very often and you can find inverters for your specific laptop online and certainly on eBay.

Blurred image on LCD registered when pic is taken faulty ccd screen? What were the numbers of faulty ccd's admitted by canon ixus 400

CHECK The memory chip to see if the picture is blurred too.

I think that is over a hundred dollars to repair. call canon and see what they say. but for that much money, you may want to trade up to some newer technologies. many great changes have come true since your model.

The picture-taking display is unclear and pinkish

Check if this is in all the SCN.
If this is on the printed pics also or just on the LCD.

If this is an intermittedly problem if there is a pattern in the occurance.

Pinkish screen and green blurred picture

Sounds like the image sensor is malfunctioning (common symptoms: distorted images with purple or green cast, completely dark images, flickering lines across the screen.)

Pinkish red distored screen & picture

CCD sensor has stopped working properly ( see pic of this device from my workbench ) that is why your pics are " noisy" both in terms of resolution and colour15f9cc5.jpg. Fortunately Canon agent  will replace the sensor free of charge.

Canon Powershot A75 blurred LCD display

It sounds like the focus element in your lens is not functioning properly. Does the lens retract completely when you turn off the camera? When you push the button does the camera attempt to focus the image? If you do not see any change in the image when you push the button, and do not hear any sound - then your focus motor is either jammed or malfunctioning. David Millier Advance Camera Repair
