When programing with computer radio will not scan

Recommend using a program called 'Chirp' (free internet download) to program your radio. Ensure the fields are populated correctly.
Upload the file, let the radio program, and then turn radio off and remove the cable. Try the scan function once you turn the radio back on.

These types of radios are sensitive to programming errors.

How do I reduce/eliminate the volume of the static between transmissions

To reduce the static bursts between radio transmissions alter the squelch setting on the radio. You must have a laptop or computer with programming software for that specific model of radio as well as the appropriate programming cable for that model radio.
Once you have downloaded the program from the radio to the computer via the program, change the squelch setting. A nominal squelch setting I use for any radios I program is 75 or higher. After making the alterations to the program, save it to a file on your computer and upload that file to the radio. Turn the radio off and on as necessary.
This should take care of the problem. If it still persists, increase the squelch setting.
Another possible fix is to change the squelch TYPE. If the radio is set to use a type "CSQ" squelch setting it will pick up ALL transmissions on the frequency programmed into the radio.
To alter this you must use the radio programming software for the radio in question and change the CSQ squelch type setting to DPL squelch type setting and assign a DPL code unique to group of radios you are using. If you pick up any cross talk from other users you can simply change the DPL code to a different DPL code. A very commonly used code would be 023N try to avoid using it. A code in the 200-300 range should be good enough.
If you have 2 or more radios they must all have the changes made to them or else they WILL NOT communicate with each other.
Hope this helps have an excellent day.

Programming radio BaoFeng BF-888 S

This is a very broad question, however if you are just needing some instructions on how to program the Baofeng BF-888 I would start by Checking Google for an operators manual, However these radio's are much easier to program with software. Search Google for a software program called Chirp. I do believe it has support for your radio, and that will allow you to program your radio, for a more detailed tutorial, check youtube.

I just purchased two Baofeng BF 888s radios and had them programmed to our frequency here. They will both receive and transmit with each other but not transmit to the radios we already had. Any ideas?

Your radios could be programmed with subaudible tones (CTCSS) or digital code squelch (DCS) which the new radios do not have. They can be programmed for it, you need to find out what tone/code you are using.
It could also be that your existing radios are programmed for a "duplex" repeater channel, with different transmit and receive frequencies. The new radios might be on the "repeater output" frequency so they would not activate the repeater.
Both could be the case, missing tone and duplex frequencies.
I would check the programming of the new and old radios, especially for tone/code squelch.

What software is required to program a motorola cp125

Motorola programming software is proprietary to them, radio dealers must pay for a subscription to each software. You would need a programming cable, radio interface box (RIB), and RVN4196 software subscription. Your radio should be programmable at your local dealer for a reasonable fee.

I bought a PRO-106 2 weeks ago and also the Radio Reference Program(software and cable) Wasn't able to get programmed within7 day program. Question: The Radio Rerference site says I need Advanced/Digital...

In order to download and program from the Radio Reference site you need to purchase a premium subscription membership with Radio Reference. I don't know what software you have, but the Butel seems to work best with the Radio Reference database, allowing simple downloading, programming, and updates. I hope this info is what you're looking for. If not, let me know, and I'll do some more research for you.

I have an older kenwood tk 270 radio. im having trouble puting it in programming mode. iv followed the instuctions to hold the light and dial buttons while turninging radio on but nothing happens got any...

These radios can be programmed via the keypad. However, this option must be enabled through the software, and must have a component removed from the circuit board. If you have a radio that will not go into self-programming mode when you use the proper key combination (light button+dial button while turning the radio on), your radio has not been enabled for this option.
