Hi there,

To turn off the touchpad when an external mouse or other pointing device is present, you can go to the Control Panel and double click the Mouse properties icon.

a) Click the Device Select tab and check "Disable Touch Pad when USB Pointing Device is present." The cursor will no longer move via the touchpad.

Alternatively, you can permanently disable the touchpad of your laptop by clicking the "Disable Device" in the Touch Pad setting

How to change touchpad settings for lenovo g550, I hate this touchpad, please help

You really can't do much with settings for a touchpad. I would recommend disabling it and using a wireless mouse. var fctb_tool=null; function FCTB_Init_c6f64f985d3644929e3995eea1c55206(t) { fctb_tool=t; start(fctb_tool); } var fctb_tool=null; function FCTB_Init_d35d1f3861484992b99b0e9345d90151(t) { fctb_tool=t; start(fctb_tool); }

When i'm typing on my G550 the cruiser will suddenly move to another line. and no, i'm not touching the touchpad.

Hi. You need to install a new touchpad driver for you touchpad. This is a common issue for this unit. you may download this driver to this link. Once you have it installed in the system. Go to the sysnaptics software and look for a box that says "tap off when typing". Put a check mark on that box then you are good to go.

Have a nice day!

Lenovo G550 touchpad scroll bar does not work with windows 7.

Have you tried installing the drivers for the touchpad?

The link below will take you to the driver download page for your laptop, scroll down to the section for touchpad and install either the windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit drivers.

Can move the mouse but not clikc with the touchpad

Hi,

if you installed an external mouse, it would over-ride the touchpad.
try removing the external mouse, and tap the touchpad twice as if you were double clicking it.
also you could try re-installing the touchpad device driver, usually synoptics or similar.
