I am searching for a replacement snap action thermostat for my Lakewood oil filled radiator heater. The numbers on the part are: KSD301 16/125 160. Its connectors are bent at 90 degrees and it has a peice in its center that slides to open and close. Can you assist in my search?

SOURCE: Lakewood oil filled heater model 5600/7 won't turn on.

I went to buy a new oil filled heater because mine was blowing the breaker. After I bought two, I heard the sales rep telling a customer to store the heater on it's side or upside down or give it a good shake to loosen the oil from the bottom. So, I went home and tried this...it may take a couple of times before it stops blowing the breaker, but it works.

Lakewood oil-filled radiator heat wattage?

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved from Microwave Ovens category!

It all depends how cold you are .Start with low, turn it up if still cold.

When you turn them on from cold you can hear about 5 minutes of snap, crackle, pop until the oil comes up to temperature. After that this unit throws out a good amount of heat on the 900 watt and 1500 watt settings.

My Lakewood heater turns on but will not produce heat. Any ideas as to what is wrong????

Same symptom on my oil-filled Lakewood model 5500. Used an ohmmeter to check it out and found that 1) the thermostat is defective and potentially a fire hazard due to intermittent operation. 2) Then I learned of reports about some Lakewood oil-filled heaters squirting hot oil and injuring people, and 3) the manufacturer subsequently going out of business. Three strikes and you're out.

I cut off my heater's power cord and threw the whole thing away, and recommend others to do the same.

My oil-filled elctric radiator heater doesnt warms up do you know why?

It could be the thermostat switch is bad,or the elements in the oil heater are burned out.

Need a thermal cutoff for our Lakewood 5500

We have these heaters and haven't had a fuse fail yet. I think it's because after the first time I got that crackling sound after moving it while it was on, I stopped doing that, and only move it with the power off, and wait two minutes before restarting it, so the oil can resettle.

However, the thermostats are now failing. Anyone know if this part is available?

Lakewood space heater thermostat source

No I never had any luck and the parts likely 1/2 the cost or more of a new one at wal mart and the heat element would still be old too

Lakewood oil-filled heater not heating up

It is quite possibly the thermostat. Dont risk your health these heaters are not very expensive and I would suggest going to buy a new one from your local department store.
