This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager, and is a known defect for your particular model camera.. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free if you live in the US, Canada, and a select few other countries. If you live outside the US, contact Canon support for your country to see if they'll still honor the advisory (some still will, especially if you stress you knowledge that this is a known defect of the camera). They may also include free shipping both ways (free shipping varies with countries). This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please see this link for more info.
Affected cameras with this problem include: A60, A70, A75, A80, A85, A95, A300, A310, S1 IS, S60, S400, S410, S500, SD100, SD110, IXUS V2/V3/300/400/430/500/II/IIs, IXY Digital 200a/300a/320/400/450/500/30/30a

Streaks like little roots or little tree branch on my pictures

is this not a problem with your lens rather than PC - best was to check is to take two separate BLACK (if white marks) or vice versa, pictures and see if the "tree" is on exactly the same place on all pictures
good luck.

Our copies are streaky like the drum is not clean.... help! There is black streaks on the top of all of our copies on our canon imagerunner 3300.

A) Black Streaks, Shadows, And Ghosting
Adjust the printer's lightness/darkness setting to 2-3 different variables and see if problem disappears. Look at the fusing assembly - is the roller torn or does it have any black buildup? Use caution!!! It gets HOT!

Try another toner also.

After approx 1-2mins the screen fades to black and white streaks and spots

LCD is going bad and eventually it won't show any image. LCD is not able to regulate the voltage going into it so to much is going into the LCD and thats why the spots and streaks are showing up.

Bad news is that this is a CCD sensor problem and you need a new one installed. Good news though is that Canon will fix this free of charge so contact them.
