Maytag legacy series washer

The drive motor which spins the drum is connected to the drum by a rubber belt. Sounds like the belt is burned through. Make sure you can spin the inside tub by hand to verify that the tub can turn freely before you replace the belt. The hum is from the drive motor just spinning freely.

I have a Roper washer Model RAX4232PQ0 When it drains and spin cycle comes on it makes a very loud rubbing slash screeching sound and when we open it it smells like a burning smell Not rubber burning but...

Known problem:
A Failed switch Ark-Les part #8318084

Incident report on there website:

I have a Roper model #RAX4232PQ0 top-loading washing machine. The door switch wore out, short-circuited, and caught on fire. The machine continued to operate, so it took a little while to figure out where the smell was coming from. The failed switch is an Ark-Les part #8318084.

Wahser stopped after wash cycle, burning smell

Hi, it is possible that something got into the pump and stopped it from turning. Let the drain hose down so that it drains into a bucket or a floor drain if possible.
If water does not drain then it is deffinetly plugged. Once you get the water out of the washer, tip it against the wall and try to remove the pump off the motor. There are two clips that hold the pump on. You will also need to remove the hoses.
With the pump off, you can set the washer back down and try to run the spin cycle. If the motor runs, it must be the pump.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.
Thanks
Vic

Roper Model RAS6233KQ Spin Cycle doesn't get the water out

Its sounds like the pump has frozen, If your smelling the belt burning its either that, the tranny binding, Or the tensioner has a defect (very unlikely). If its washing, agitating and spinning okay its the pump. Get ya a new belt while your at it!
