I had a friend that ran into the same problem, but his solution is not what I would recommend but it did work for him. He used sewing machine oil and applied a tiny amount less than a drop to the crevice of the camera body and the outer lens housing, his was stuck in the retracted position, and he got it going again without a problem.

The automatic slideing lens cover on the Kodak Easyshare C653 camera is sticking, sometimes it will open halfway than will not close. There may be sands in it from the beach. Is there any way of cleaning...

Here are the steps for the lens problem: 1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera. Please use lithium batteries Ni-Mh or rechargeable Batteries (2000 M.Amp or higher). 2. Clean the battery contacts. a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth. b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera 3. Turn on your camera without the memory card. (If it works then it?s your memory card that is faulty)

Sounds like impact. Try putting new Good batteries in. If that doesn't work, you can contact Kodak to see where the local "authorized" service center in your area is, I know of 2 in South Florida.

Kodak EasyShare One lens won't open - camera cycles on/off

I had the same problem. Even though I was keeping the camera on the dock all of the time to charge it, the solution was very simple - get a new battery for inside the camera.

I bought new ones at a greatly reduced price on eBay. Now I carry one with me wherever I go in case the battery wears out/down.

I shoot a lot of videos, so it really takes a lot out of the batteries.

Easyshare c513 leans errors

NO don't buy another one. You can send it in for repair and it should only cost around 65.00 to have the lens replaced. I repair these all the time and it just take some time to have fixed. Or You can trade it in for a upgraded camera also. Upgrade you camera check out some of the offers out there. "There are places like mine that offer great deals".
