We have a Frigidaire FMV156DCC that is about 3+ years old. as of last night when the door is closed and the time is selected one of 3 things happen (or doesnt happen) 1. is nothing, just a dark microwave. 2. the light comes on and the timer counts down but no microwaves, silent 3. hold/push the door up and soundes like its cooking /may be cooking but no timer On rare occasion while pushing the door up it will cook and count down. Is it time for a new one or is a switch or 2 out of adjustment?

I would replace the door switches and set up the door gap to 1/8" just enough to alow for a little play.
Setting the door square is acheived by slackening the lower door hinge and re tightening it when the door is square.
Hope that helps.

You likely have a failed bottom door switch, or that switch's mount is loose, misaligned, or broken.

The service manual will help you with disassembly, etc. It is here.

Frigidaire FMV156DCC

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

Let us know if the hard reset does not fix it.

If it doesn't would suspect you have a problem with your control board.

We regularly repair these for customers nationwide with our guaranteed $39.95 service.

Frigidaire Microwave Over the Range

It could be one of several things. A defective diode, triode, high-voltage capacitor, or even a faulty magnetron. Find your appliance model number, go to, http://www.apwagner.com and put your number in the model search. They should have breakdowns of many most current models. This way you can know what is what and what to look for. Good luck
