The grundig g6 has sticky case

Sounds like oils from your hands (or someones) over time has reacted to a coating on the radio. Try Isopropyl or denatured alcohol and paper towels and/or cotton balls. Do not be surprised if you loose the coating. The sticky is the body oils de-bonding abd breaking down the rubberized coating.

I bought grundig G6 at Boeing Store, when i turned the radio ON it suddenly turned OFF by itself . i always tried to press ON until 5 times n suddenly it works normally, n if i press the AM,search UP,or...

That unit is not made any longer. There could be an issue with the buttons. They are most likely carbon pad. They can degrade over time and no longer work correctly. In some cases you can take the front panel off and remove the membrane with the buttons and clean them with alcohol and clean the pad they contact and reassemble. However this could also be a bad capacitor that holds the charge when the button is pressed.

I just purchased the G6 Aviator. The FM band works well, but none of the AM or shortwave stations get reception. I have tried the antenna up and down, indoors and outdoors with no success.

It sounds like the whole am band is not working which includes the shortwave bands, there is no remedy to correct this and is clearly a manufacture defect. The best solution is return the radio because there is nothing more that can be done in it's present condition.

I purchased a brand new Grundig G6 radio a few days ago. Both AM & FM worked fine until yesterday. FM still works fine but now the AM is totally dead. What's the problem? Thanks, FELIX

I can't solve it. Mine has the same problem. At least we've established that there is a run of bad chips. I will be able to exchange my radio for a new one, but why bother if there is a production problem. I might upgrade to another model.

Sad. It's a fine little receiver.

I have lost my owner's manual. I bought it at Radio Shack but they said to contact you. I just need to get the manual, thank you.

This was very difficult to find, but I found it just for you! Please make sure you rate my answer 4 thumbs up! Thanks so much for understanding, it would be a huge help to me. I would be forever grateful if you could do this for me. To view the manual you will need adobe reader, which you can get for free from http://get.adobe.com/reader/ You probably already have it though, please try opening the file first and find out. Here is the manual / guide please give it a few minutes the file is quite large:

Grundig g6 airband in khz and poor reception

I think having the display showing MHz for the air band would have been a better choice on Grundig's part, but it really doesn't matter that much. Its just a matter of moving the decimal point to the left three places.
As far as getting better reception on the air band, here are some tips:

1. Use an antenna.
2. Try other antennas.
3. Find a known active freq.
4. Find a freq. low of FM spurs.
5. Turn up the volume.

I own and use a G6, and get decent results with it on the airband.

I need to know how to set the radio presets for the Grundig.

If you go to this link; http://www.amazon.com/Grundig-G2000A-AM-Shortwave-Radio/dp/B00000JD4T/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3/104-1966292-9407907?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1175876962&sr=1-3 This is the same model, and under "product details" you can download the manual. Page 21 of the manual (page 10 of the pdf file) should tell you what you need to know. Hope this helps :)
