Depending upon your make and model of oven when you first turn the oven on to heat a light may come on that says 'preheat'. When the oven is heated to the temperature that you set it for the light will go off and some models sound a tone or beep as well. If your model does not show you in any way when it is preheated ( such may be the case in an older oven)you can purchase an oven thermometer for that purpose. If you will send the information regarding the make and model of your oven, I can give you a more specific answer.

My oven is always flashing PF what does that mean

"PF" stands for Power Failure. There should be a reset procedure in your user's manual. I cannot specify this since you don't give the manufacturer or model number of your oven.

My oven bakes, but it takes 30 minutes to preheat

Hi friend, thank you for your post!

I know from your post that your Frigidaire oven is working but the preheat takes 30 minutes. This does sound like lengthy amount of time for preheat to be completed. From what you are describing it could be an issue with the panel, element, or thermostat. Since it could be anyone of these underlying issues I would recommend having a professional come out to diagnose your refrigerator to determine the root cause to reduce the risk of unnecessary parts. -Matt

My Maytag oven was shut off when a breaker was tripped. We turned everything back on however the clock says " 5ab" and none of the buttons work to reset the clock. Without this function, we can't...

That is the sabbath feature, to get it or defeat it:

1. Push the PREHEAT pad and set the oven
temperature to 500°F/260°C or more using the UP
ARROW pad.
2. Push the PREHEAT pad within the next 2 seconds
for 3-4 seconds. A beep sounds and a number
appears in red to the right of the display. For the
conversion, "3" must be displayed. If another number
is displayed, push the PREHEAT pad and select
"3".
3. Push the UP or DOWN ARROW pad to change
from 12 hour to 9999 in the display, for no 12 hour
shut-off.
4. Push the CANCEL pad to confirm your choice.
