    To; Repairman45
Thank you for the help re: my Maytag stackable...As suggested I looked up parts on Reliable Parts website...should I be ordering just the timer unit? Is it relatively straightforward to replace? We live out in the country a repair service out here is a challenge.
    Many thanks,

The timer motor is bad, you can order a new one at reliableparts.com , using your model number. For information on how to perform your repair please reply and i will be happy to help.

Yes, all you need is the timer assembly, unless the dial or knob is broken. It is a little tricky to replace. You will need to remove the entire front panel that it is mounted to, in order to access it from the back. Remove the knob and dial, and then unscrew it from the back and turn it to pull it out, Reverse the steps to install the new one.

Now washer is not taking water...UGH! Is this also "Timer related"?

  • Anonymous Dec 20, 2010

could have to do with the timer most definately, once you replace it let me know how it goes.

  • Anonymous Dec 22, 2010

well I received the timer today, installed relatively easily and started up the washer. Good news...I got water in the tub. Bad news: same problem as before, won't cycle through the different settings unless I do it manually...
Any ideas where to look for a solution????
    Thank you,

    You still around repairman45?

  • abellaaa May 05, 2011

Was that the issue? Just a timer? I am having a similar problem, if I put the washer on the heavy cycle, it starts, but then starts before it passes the light soil cycle, but if I start at the low soil cycle it will go all the way through. Is this a timer motor too?

Our Maytag Neptune stackable washer MLE2000AYW stops after every cycle. I must manually click the knob to the next cycle for it to continue. I have also noticed that the fabric softener area doesn't...

Hello, can you determine if your machine shutsdown in the rinse cycles? If it does then the cause is probably the water inlet screens are clogged with debris. See Neptune Help FAQ #8 for more help.

I would be concerned about your door latch wax motor ( part # 12002535) though... See Neptune Help for more information about replacing the faulty wax motor with brown colored actuator tip before it damages your machine control board. When the wax motor shorts out it will blow the Q6 triac and then the R11 resistor will burn and your door probably won't lock anymore as indicated by the door locked light not coming on. The next thing you will notice is that your clothes will be soaking wet after the wash cycle because the spin cycle will not work if the door does not lock...

Your machine control board is located above the dryer on the right side.

Every Maytag Neptune front loader with a timer knob (non digital) has a wax motor and all of them shipped with faulty one except the later 2000 series stacker models. You should proactively replace the wax motor with the new design (with black tip) to prevent the Q6 R11 failure on the control board. If you're too late you can try the STAGE 1 repair kit at the same site above.

To inspect your door latch wax motor on the stackers you:

  • Unplug machine
  • Remove the (2) screws holding center panel and remove panel
  • Remove the (1) center screw holding the top panel located inside compartment above washer
  • Remove the top panel to expose the door latch assembly

    I hope this helps you.

Very loud spin cycle

It sounds like the bearings have gone out in the tub. The major cause of this is using powder soap. There is nothing you can do but replace the rear outer tub. This is a costly fix but maybe worth it for a stack unit.

Stops mid cycle, won't spin

You need to check and see if the door-lock light is on ,if not then you have either a faulty door lock mech. or a defective solid state board in the control panel

Spin cycle lasts indefinately

the spin cylce in washer, did not shut off?soundslike an issue with the timer itself, no servicing htetimer strictly replace, as far as teh time in the dryer, i would check for clogged/kinked dryer vent, biggest issue with any dryer, innadequate vent

LWH0050P Stackable Compact Washer not spinning

sounds like it could be the transmission. Does the tub turn when you turn the pulley in either direction with your hand? And take the belt off see if the motor turns when you close the lid and turn it on without the belt??

Maytag Neptune Stacked unit door leaks

This can be caused by water collecting in the door to tub seal. Best repair would be to replace the door seal.
