Lexmark Prevail Pro 705 says problem with printhead after it prints a page or two. This is a new printer recfeived today.

Contact the technical support team as i did, they run you through a process on the phone to try and fix the problem, if they cant and the printhead is genuine they ask you to verify the printhead with the code number located at the rear of it, provided that code shows on their system, they send you oout a new printhead within 12-14 working days,

beats buying a new printhead or printer.
**remember the Pro705 has a 5 year guarantee

Some Lexmark cartridges have an RF chip mounted underneath the label on top. Most of these are set to self destruct on first use to prevent refilling. You probably need to risk the cost of a new cartridge to find out if it is a cartridge problem or a printer problem. Unfortunately you should not take out a cartridge or replace one while the machine is powered. The system also frequently registers an serial number on the cartridge and stores it to prevent "hot swapping" cartridges

could be the document size or not enough memory or if you are printing from a network could be network traffic... try deleating the current driver software and reinstall the new software using the disc that came with the printer

Where's the ink?

Make sure that the firmware of your printer is up to date. Just go to http://bit.ly/ghfW8H to download the firmware update. It helps maximize the life of your ink cartridges.

Printing in draft mode will also help.

Lexmark Prevail Pro705 printer jams each attempt to print. Reasonably new, Lexmark just replaced printhead and ink cartridges under warranty and printer gave better print results than when brand new. Joy...

Make sure your printer is updated. Please visit the Lexmark website to download and install the Lexmark Pro700 Series Firmware Update on your computer. The update will make your printer more reliable and more efficient.

My Lexmark prevail pro 705 has stopped printing anything colour even after i have replaced all the cartridges??

To run the Deep Clean Printhead function on your printer -> on the printer operator panel, press Setup -> Maintenance -> select Deep Clean Printhead. Your printer will then print the test page.
