Hi

F2/F3 error message relates to the oven temperature sensor or thermostat faults.

The fix is normally to replace it.

Sorry no update until now. We don't have a oven for now. My husband read the suggestions and did some looking at oven. I called sears. We were able to find out my parents had the kitchen redone in July 1993 and they can order the part for $100. We will look to see if we can find for less. I think I shocked him by finding this site and with everyone's help we figured it out.

Oven will say F3 and shut down what does F3 mean no book?

Kenmore' F2 or F3 usually points to an open oven temperature sensor. If that is the problem, it's not an expensive repair.

F3 f4 gaas oven when preheated these numbers appear it beeps and shuts off

Hi, replace the oven temperature sensor if "F2," "F3" or "F4" is displayed. "F2" indicates the oven temperature is too hot and the oven temperature sensor is suspect. "F3" or "F4" indicates the oven temperature sensor or shorted or open.

I had F3 and F2 errors and now the oven will not heat at all. It tries and then shuts off.

F2 Oven Temp Exceeds 590 with unlocked door High resistance in Sensor, likely a bad sensor

F3 Open Sensor circuit Open (blown) sensor fuse or bad Sensor

F3 and F2 Errror messages on my GE convection oven

F2 & F3 are fault codes relating to the oven temperature sensor

F2 during bake means a temperature of over 630 deg has been reached
F3 means shorted oven temperature sensor

What it means is you will most likely need to have the oven temperature sensor (thermostat) replaced .

When I turn the GE oven on sometimes it works fine other times it will shut off. When it shuts off it will give the F2 or F3 error sign. Can you please tell me what this means? Thanks

Hi, the F2 Error code means the oven has detected an excess temperature condition. Most often this is due to a bad temperature sensor - the sensor costs about $75 from an online repair site.
The "F3" error code means the oven sensor is open, I suggest you flip breaker off then back, on Re check for error, if OK fine if not turn back off and fix or call for service man...

Maytag oven beeping the message F2/F3 and I do not know what is causing it to do that. What is the cause, and how do i fix it?

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error F2/F3 in your range/oven means oven temperature sensor circuit failure. To resolve this issue you’ll have to check the oven temp. sensor circuit if the reading is more then 1100ohms then it should be replaced however, if the rating is fine then it is the Electronic Range Control (ERC) that has gone bad & should be replaced. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Model # c970-47821-3 shuts off when it heats up and displays F2 or F3?

F2-F3 is a bad temperature sensor.
Unplug the range. Open the oven door.Remove the racks. Look up high on the back wall of the oven to locate the temperature sensor. It is metal and about 4 inches long and thin.Remove the 1 or 2 screws holding it in. Pull it out of the hole carefully. Unplug it. Install a new sensor.

F2 and F3 code appearing along with annoying beeping

i think f3 error code has something to do with the temp probe maybe it is the problem. the temp probe is located if you open the door directly in the back wall. it looks like a prong. should read 1100ohms the f2 error code though usually has something to do with the keypad i would check all the connections maybe they are loose.
