I cannot listen to any songs downloaded from Rhapsody on my Sansa Fuze+ 8GB. I get a 'DRM License Not Available' error. Connecting it to Rhapsody yields "Your device is not operating properly. Technical details: Unable to synchronize licenses. Error code 0x8004c029". The only thing that worked for me is to reformat and redownload everything, however this only worked for two hours before the same error occurred, and I've been through this cycle twice. Is there any way to fix this problem? I'm considering getting another one anyway, the touchpad is driving me crazy.

When the message 'Error' or 'License Issue' shows,
it is referring to the DRM (Digital Rights Management) licences which are
commonly found when downloading files. This is a method the music companies use
to protect their music
dear veronica,do you mean that you want to move the songs from rhapsody to your sansa?if so ,maybe i could help you .first,i have to tell you that all the music purchased from rhapsody is under DRM protection.which stops customers from playing the downloaded music with other portable devices like apple and so on .same as your sansa.so if you want to enjoy these songs with your sansa ,you have to use some tool to convert it .here is a detailed tutorial about how to do it .or if you still want to know the instruction ,please see this demo .(do not delete)
If the book was purchased from the net and came with a license, you will have to set the player to MTP mode and sync the book through Media player or QuickTime. MTP stands forMedia Transfer Protocol. It is a Microsoft standard and is Microsoft's solution to connecting MP3 players and cameras to a w*ndow based Computer. MTP mode must be used in order to transfer ANY Digital Rights Management, (DRM) or protected content. MP3's downloaded form services like Rhapsody and Napster even Amazon will only function in this MTP mode. Now, Any songs added to your player in MSC mode will not be available in MTP mode and vise-a-versa. In other words You can't see the files added in the other mode and you can not play them.
When we say synchronize it means that the license for the songs which you transfered got expired. If you have chosen rhapsody for transferring songs then follow the steps.
1) Deauthorize Computer. ( In rhapsody menu, go to tools menu there u will find this option) 2) Deauthorize device (By connecting the device in to rhapsody, right click on device where u will get this option). 3) Rename DRM folder in windows OS. 4) Go to rhapsody folder c:/prog files/rhapsody 5) Run the 3 files ( Del Helix License, Update Helix Componetns and Update windows components) 6) Then you will be redirected to the web page where u need to click on upgrade (But before u clilck on upgrade please install the activeX control, which will be popped up below the address bar) 7) Restart the computer 8) Launch rhapsody, it will take u to the setup 9) Follow the on screen instruction. 10) Sign into rhapsody account 11) Authorize computer 12) Connect the device 13) Authorize device 14) Download and transfer new song into the device 15) Unplug the device and try to play it 16) This should work..
NOTE : When we update the windows component please make sure that we use IE as default browser
You need to plug your mp3 into the computer you downloaded your music from to sync it up. Go to that website and if you dont get a pop up asking if you want to sync your device. You should do this at least once a week.
hmm. The hard drive itself could be messed up. The hard drive can easily be formatted by right clicking and formatting it. Though I am taking the easy way out here to fix the problem.
I have the same problem as well, if you downloaded your songs through a subscription service such as Rhapsody, you may have to connect the Connect to the PC with Rhapsody running. Sansa suggests connecting to one of Yahoo!'s services with the WiFi. This usually works for me, but it hasnt been recently.
If that fails, there are a few different possibilities. 0.5) make sure the songs are in mp3 or WMA format 1)Your subscription to your digital music service such as Napster, etc has expired. Sorry - unless you renew your subscription, you will not be able to play these songs again. 2) Your songs have DRM-encryption on them. To check and see, right click on an individual song name in Windows Media Player, and click on "License" or "Digital Rights"; if the affected songs have DRM encryption, then get DRM-removal software. 3) Your songs do NOT have DRM-encryption on them. In this instance, follow the procedure for item#2, except click on the link in the License or digital Rights tab that says "acquire license" (make sure you are connected to the internet first).
