Yes the above solution ie by pressing "STOP" button and "DISP/MENU" button at a time is solved my problem showing "ERR" in VN 2100PC olympus voice recorder
Check batteries to see if they are inserted correctly
PRESS STOP AND DISPLAY/MENU TOGETHER AND YOU WILL GET A MSG SAYING FOR (FORMATTING) AND IT RESTORES EVERY THING TO NORMAL HOW EVER DATA WILL BE LOST.
IF STOP AND D/MENU DOESNT WORK THEN TRY STOP.ERASE THATS WHAT IT SAYS IN THE BOOK BUT IT DIDNT WORK ON MY 3100PC
