PLEASE HELP ME!!! I Have a 32 bit vista 20 inch hp hdx 9000 entertainment series computer and I am trying to use my Imate Jasjam as a modem. When I first bought it I just plugged and played no problem and now I get an error message. check usb cable connection. I have tried every usb port, 3 usb cables, I have tried another 32 bit vista machine with no problem and also xp machines no problems. So I am at the stage where it is my laptop that is failing to see my phone as a modem. The odd thing is that I can sync the phone easilly but just not as a modem. Can someone help me please I have spent over 20 hours on this problem so far. I have tried everything hp has suggested with no success. The final thing they have suggested is to back everything up and reboot the machine. I only want to use this method as a last resort as I dont have much time to backup and recustomize my computer to how it is now. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!

Alright everything seems good on your laptop no need to back up and run a restore.

You may have wireless and bluetooth enabled while connected to your phone. By disabling Wireless on your laptop and restarting you should be able to use your phone as a modem.

Will you disable wireless by clicking on the Fn key near your Windows key and also cliking on the Fn wireless key which is a "F(number) key with a blue vertical line and two radiating semi cricles. Then restart with your phone connected and see if you can't use your phone now.

    Thanks,

Once you have restarted you may see a blue icon with two triangles pointing to the right in the system tray next or near your time display. Click on the blue icon and your phone should be listed, you then click on your phone in the bluetooth devices to connect to it and then you should be able to go outbound to the Internet no matter where you are. When you are near a wireless network such as at home you don't need to use your phone. You only use your phone when your wireless onboard is not connected to anything.

I think you should appoint a letter for the modem driver when it is connected....go to the control panel/ administrative tools/computer management/ disk management and right click the driver path and appoint a letter for that and then set the connection....
hopefully it wil work but i am not sure....

Base system drivers

Card reader drivers, get it either from HP or Windows update. If you are running Windows 7, use the vista drivers. Just make sure if you are running 7 64, use vista 64 or 7 32 bit, use vista 32.

Must reboot to connect to internet

It Happens sometime because Machine does not pass information properly so we need to restart our system to reset all settings again.
and Vista still has many bugs on it so these cases are normal until next version release.

Software install problem

You need to download the vista 64 bit drivers/software for this to work properly. You should be able to find them on the HP website under the support section for your product. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer. Thanks.

Syncing

Hello Ansir

It depends on what operating system you are working on - MicroSoft Vista or 2000? or XP?
If it is any other than Vista then Please visit www.downloads.com and search for Microsoft activesync. You may download the latest activesync there and install it.
after installing the software you will then need to connect your i-mate with the PC, most preferably with a USB cable. Follow the instructions that come then and there you are!

Hi how do i change the flow rate setting of wireless modem for my imate jasjam PDA? Regards Thanh

I don't think you can change the flow rate of the wireless modem. Are you talking about the link speed? As to your JasJam PDA, look in your manual
