My Taylor Scale model 7404 claimed to have a "long life time battery" and that if used in health club, or such, applications may require replacement after time. My scale is used maybe once a week, and has required battery replacement twice, lasting little more than a year each time. What is a long life time battery?

SOURCE: resetting the scale

You do not reset the scale. It only saves the last recorded weight of the user. So, if you weighed yesterday, it will put your recorded weight in memory. The next time you select your user number and step on the scale, it will compute the difference from your previous record and save your current weight.

SOURCE: unable to reset health o meter scale BFM676 need instruction man

I just got a BFM676 without instructions. I looked on Health O meter's home page. I then looked through various instruction manuals. One of them worked.

To adjust profiles. Turn on by pressing scroll. Choose profile number you want to edit with the scroll button. Hold down the Select button until the first height number starts flashing. Use the scroll button to change the numbers. Use the select button to change to the next field. Have fun. =)

SOURCE: Err 1 message on Taylor Lithium Elec Scale model 7346

This is a reply I received from Taylor customer support. I have followed this procedure enough times to wear out the original battery and still get the Err 1 message. You may have better luck.

Thank you for your e-mail. The reboot below may clear the error from
your scale. You may need to do this several times to completely reboot
the system. Please let us know if you have any questions or continue to
display the Error.

1. Remove the battery from the scale
2. Set the scale on the floor without the battery in place.
3. Stand on the scale for 10 seconds (still without the battery)
4. Carefully replace the battery without turning the scale on.
5. Using only one foot, tap the scale or apply just enough pressure to
turn on the display. (It should show dashes or zero's) IMMEDIATELY
REMOVE YOUR FOOT.
6. Let the scale turn off
7. Step on the scale for a weight reading

SOURCE: how to calibrate a taylor scale 5571

The following reset procedure is used when the scale shows an err2, err, 0.0, inaccurate weight,to calibrate, or some other unusual error.

  1. Remove the battery from the scale.
  2. Sit the scale on a hard surface floor.
  3. Step up onto the scale, stand still for about 5 seconds and step off the scale.
  4. Re-install your battery.
  5. Place the scale back on a hard surface floor.
  6. With one foot only, place just enough weight on the scale for the display shows zero’s or dashes. Once you see zeros or dashes remove your foot.
  7. Wait for the scale to turn off again.
  8. Step up onto the scale for a weight.
If the reset is successful, you should receive a weight right away. If you continue to receive one of the error messages above please call our Customer Service department. You can also try the reset procedure a 2nd time. Sometimes the reset procedure will work the second time.

SOLVED: Taylor 5798f scale wont turn on,i have new batteries

If your Taylor 5798f scale won't turn on even with new batteries, there could be a few possible reasons for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
1. Check the battery placement: Make sure the batteries are inserted correctly, with the positive and negative ends aligned properly.
2. Clean the battery contacts: Sometimes, dirt or residue can accumulate on the battery contacts, preventing proper electrical connection. Use a clean cloth or cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol to clean the battery contacts.
3. Reset the scale: Look for a reset button or a small hole on the underside of the scale. Use a paperclip or a similar tool to press and hold the reset button for a few seconds. This may help reset any internal settings that could be causing the issue.
4. Replace the batteries: Even though the batteries are new, they could be faulty or have low power. Try replacing them with a different set of new batteries to see if that resolves the issue.
5. Contact customer support: If none of the above steps work, it's best to reach out to Taylor customer support for further assistance. They may be able to provide specific troubleshooting steps or guide you on how to get the scale repaired or replaced if necessary.
Remember to refer to the user manual or contact Taylor customer support for specific instructions related to your model of scale.

The e on CR2032e denotes the manufacturer as Mitsubishi. Both are CR2032 batteries which means they produce 3V and 210 mAh (210 is the spec, 220 is a common claimed total energy content).

I replaced the batteries and followed the instruction.

You need to initialise the weighing process by tapping your foot on to the scale to start it...but wait for it to zero...then step on it.
