Our side by side GE refrigerator has now started to pop open the refrigerator side....held it shut walk away and a few minutes later it has popped open....could it be the gasket?
Undo the bolt at the bottom of the fridge side and have someone hold the door level, this happened to mine over time and the doors had just became uneven. Level up both doors by refixing the bolts and see if that helps. It did for me.
My one is TFE22R maybe we have same problem, i found plastic ring in the botom hins broken now i,m tring to get the spare part for thats plastic ring( the ring unequal thicknes so when you open the door up make it the doors close by it self)

Check your product storage in the door and on the shelves. When you first close the door a negative pressure forms from the contraction of the air. When the pressure equalizes something is causing the door to push open.

My Maytag side by side door doesn't shut good, it looks as if it sticks out 1/2 inch out further than the freezer door which shuts just fine. The door gasket looks ok, I
haven't checked the hinges for wear.
My GE TFX22R side by side freezer frig has the problem indicated. The frig side will not close properly. The gasket looks good and the frezzer side shuts just fine. We cleaned the contact points and did not seem to help. I plan to purchase a new gasket and hope that will help.
The fridge side has popped something on the bottom and the door no
longer closes automatically nor stays shut. This has made the two doors
uneven. Looks like a piece broke at the bottom of the door??????
