Press Setup on the remote > General Settings (the first option down) > Display (the second option in this list) > OSD Language *the first line) and choose your language (English should be the first in the list). Use the up/down arrows to change lines followed by Enter to select the option.
If you are using a universal remote that doesn't have the setup button that works, you need a different remote. Remotes.com has a new remote almost identical to the one that came with the unit as well as used remotes. http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=gmi&uuid=12832146296260&smodel=DR410&brand_pn=TOSHIBA_DR410 .
I hope this helps.

BTW, press Setup again to exit the Setup menu.

The Spanish labels are in the same place which is why I gave the order in the lists.
ajuste general = general adjustment
Literal translations would be:
Sistema General = General Setup
Demostración = Display
Lengua de OSD (if the abbreviation is kept)
En Pantalla Lengua de Demostración (otherwise) = OSD Language
Inglés = English
I hope this helps.

You are seeing the Setup screen (ajuste inicial) that you need. You just need to find the appropriate line even if it is in Spanish. Most of the time there will be one word that will be similar to the English
like general/general, Language/Lengua.
I hope this helps.

There must be a reason why I cant program it in english,, this doesn,t solve my problem. Somebody out there must know whats causing. Why should I have to translate it back to english, Thanks for nothing
I can't tell you why the unit is set for Spanish On-screen Display. I can only tell you that you can change it back to English - it has only a few language choices. Three steps: press Setup. On the first screen, choose the first line by highlighting it (the word general will be part of the text) and press Enter. On next menu screen, choose the second one down (Display/Demonstracion) and press Enter. Select the first line for OSD Language (Lengua in Spanish) and press Enter. Finally select English which should be your first choice (in Spanish it reads Ingles). Press Enter and then Setup to exit the menu.
After that all your OSD menus should return to being in English.

(all of my units have options for French, English and Spanish menus. Swapping them is easy and is a simple way for someone to practice their second and third language skills when they want to.)
You need enough Spanish (mostly words that are very similar in both languages) to reset the unit. Then you can put it into English and leave it there. After that you can forget the Spanish. (Alternatively just reset it by the places in the menus and ignore the Spanish.)

use google translate to translate what is being displayed from a computer browser type: translate.google.com set the left window for spanish and enter what is displayed on the screen in the window. on the window to the right set it as english and click the translate button to see the translation in the right window. hope this helps.

When I press setup with the remote ajuste general comes up, and all the settings under it are in spanish. I am using the original remote and manuel, like I said before initial setting never comes up, for me to hit english.
No, in so many words I should learn spanish
