Usually .mov Files will work if you have a good DVD Burning Program, however the standard is .mpg or .avi. Most programs such as Roxio, Nero, and 3rd party DVD Authoring programs will use any file, but it will take a little longer because it has to convert the video, usually resulting a little quality loss.

click on the link above and you can either view it or download it. Good luck.
the videos give a GENERAL WAY of how to use the combo unit. Once you do it you will find that it is very simple. Good luck.
After you finish recording you have to finalize the disc before you can play it in another DVD player. The owners manual will have a section to tell you how to finalize the disc. WARNING!!! Once you have finalized the disc you will no longer be able to record on it. If this helps please rank me and leave a comment. I do not get paid in any way but I like doing this and want to make sure I am helping. I am adding a link where you can download the manual in case you lost it.
I would try a universal remote and before you buy it, check to see if your brand of TV is on the list they provide. Chances are all of the newer remotes will have a code that works.
If your DVD players is set to Progressive Scan Mode, tehn ther would be a light indicating it is so. The light is labeled P?scan on the bottom right side of your display window.
You can disable/turn OFF the P/Scan mode in the "Setup menu".
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
The problem is caused by the laser pickup assembly, the laser cannot read the disc because the pladder motor is not turning. The only option is to replace the assembly, not cost effective to repair, cheaper to buy a new replacement.
I found the remote, then tried 0000 to unlock, which didn't work. Luckily 1111 did. I figure if I hadn't found the remote, I could have bought a cheap universal one. But all is well now. I still have no idea how the parental control was implemented.
