Key locked system shutdown

There's a slide switch on the top of the Sansa near the headphone jack. Slide it away from the jack to unlock it.

There's a slide switch on the top of the unit, near the headphone jack. Slide it away from the jack to unlock the unit. Slide it toward the jack to lock the unit so that accidental bumping of the controls won't do anything.

Since more than a month has gone by without a response, I assume my suggestion worked.

Disengage the hold/lock button on top of the player.

take it off hold. should be a switch somewhere.

you have to turn the lock off by moving the lock tab on the side of the mp3 player to the left.

slide hold switch to center and hold power for 3-5 seconds

slide the hold button @ the top of your player the other direction. hen turn on. this should solve it.

I had the same problem. The next day I tried it again. It took about 5 hours to charge and then it froze. There were also songs on it that we had not recorded. This was in a sealed case! I took that one back the next day and got a new one. Today we charged that one and it only took about 2 hours. As soon as my daughter tried to go through the screens it froze again. You can't even shout it off! I am very frustraited!!!!!!
