HOW TO SET DAY / DATE ON AN ANALOG (STEM) WATCH

mcdevito75 here, Over Forty (40) years ago, watch manufactures added, to some of their ANALOG (wind up) and almost all of their DIGITAL (button display) watches the FEATURE of the, MONTH or DAY of the WEEK and the DATE, not only was the time of day available but also the DATE which you no longer had to go searching for, it was readily available on your wrist. The PROBLEM came with SETTING the CORRECT MONTH or DAY of the week and the DATE as some MONTHS HAD 31 DAYS rather than 30 DAYS, this meant you had to CYCLE your watch at least 62 times to get to the CORRECT DATE and mant times, when you finally did reach the CORRECT DATE, the day of the week was off, meaning more CYCLES thru the 24 hours.-------- HERE is the EASY way to SET the MONTH or DAY / DATE on your QUARTZ / MECHANICAL (STEM) watch without haveing to go thru the 24 hour cycle so many, many times. Not only is this, WEAR on your fingers, you can also damage your watch with some many cycles of the 24 hours to SET the correct MONTH or DAY / DATE. ------ HERE ARE THE BASICS,---------- Your ANALOG or STEM watch either QUARTZ or MECHANICAL should have a TWO (2) position STEM we are only familiar with the ONE (1) position we use to set the TIME, there should be TWO (2) positions to the STEM. First pull out the STEM to adjust the MONTH or DAY depending on your watches display, if your watch DISPLAYs the DAY of the week, set the DAY to one (1) DAY before the DAY you want, don"t worry about the DATE (number) yet. Once you have the MONTH or DAY set, push the STEM back into the watch, NOW with a finger nail just under the STEM (usually from the back of the stem as there is more room) gently lift the STEM to it"s first position, It may take some practice so be patient, once the STEM is in it"s first position you should be able to turn the STEM to adjust the DATE (number), if so Adust the DATE (number) to ONE (1) DATE before the DATE you want, This way your watch will be adjusted to change the DAY / DATE at the correct time. Once you have the DATE (number) adjusted to ONE (1) DATE before the DATE you want, push the STEM back into the watch, NOW pull the STEM out to adjust the time, go thru the 24 hour cycle to adjust to the correct DAY DATE (number) and time of day.------------ Your QUARTZ or MECHANICAL (stem) watch is now adjusted to the correct DAY / DATE and will change at the correct hour which is generally 12--1 AM.

How do you set the day of the week and 24 hour on the watch?

You only have to pull the crown of your watch to its third position ( to set the time) so that if you turn it until it reaches 2am or 3 am the day moves and you have to continue it until you reach the exact day of the week. Then, you don't have to set the 24 hour on the watch because the time remains the same on with the time on your watch. observe it. I hope that i had solve your problem.

My timex watch changes the date at noon instead of midnight. How do I fix this?

Hello,
This is because you have reversed am with pm.
Set your watch 12 hours back and the problem should be solved.
You might want to wait till midnight or noon to check it's fine.

Note: if you see the day shows the previous day rather than the present day, you have to set the clock 24h ahead.
Problem solved!

Sorry, I don't have a solution to this problem but I am experiencing the exact same problem with my Citizen Eco Drive Skyhawk A-T (JY0000-53E). It automatically sets the year to 2016 and the day to the previous day. For example, if it's currently Tuesday, the watch will indicate that it's Monday. And instead of the year being 2010, the watch will indicate that it's 2016. I have to reset my watch daily. I'm not really sure how long my watch has had this issue but I first noticed it in March, 2010.

Question:how to set the weekday on a Fossil watch model BQ-9165.

You have to pull out the stem all the way and turn clockwise until you get to the correct day. Hopefully you won't have to wind thru the whole week.

Day and date not synchronized with actual day and date

The watch does not have a "perpetual" clock so it does not know what month it is in. It will treat every month as a 31 day month, so you will have to re-set the date anytime a month is not 31 days.

If you appreciate me answering this for you then please rank this solution as "fixya" or at least "helpful" as what I have said will solve your problem. :-)

Seiko Diamatic Day Date Automatic Watch No: 219050

I have a Seiko Diamatic 780632. To set the day and date, pull the crown once and wind it upwards (away from you) to set the date; winding it downwards (towards you) will set the day. To set the time, you have to pull the crown twice and wind it towards you.
