Hi sadh_priyank Check this in the following order : You are using a program set to 4.5 GB or your device is set to 4.5 GB or you are using an unappropriate disc . Best regards , fanaudi .
Hi, It seems that optical laser block gets fail to read data on disc and possible cause could be dirty/ clogged lens or optical laser block failure. Put lens cleaning disc in unit to clean optical lens and check DVD playback, if that does not solve the issue then optical laser block would be defective and requires replacement that would cost approx new player price. Hope these info will help. Thanks.
I went through 2 DVD burners in one year (I bought a really cheap "mad dog" DVD burner...never again to say the least). I saw a "insert disc", even though there was already a disc in the burner, and thought "I'm not paying for a new burner, I'll fix this one...". I eventually got it to work again, but all that I got was corrupt disc after corrupt disc.
I'll bet that it still reads CD's fine doesn't it? Yeah? Well then, trust me, buy a new one. It'll save you time, money (you won't waste all those DVD/CD's), headaches, moments of depression, anxiety, frustration, and your sanity.
Except no substitutes of a solution. Don't go through what I did...
I also suggest ccleaner (freeware) from filehippo.com to clean out the system and not only run the "Analyze/Clean", but also verify "Tools/Startup" and uncheck ANY program that you are unsure of.
Have you tried other discs, or just that one? It might be that the disc you've inserted already has something written on it, and you can't burn a DVD-R twice. From the error message you're getting, that would be my guess.
You can also verify the users manual. Mostly you can see some code in the
CD-ROM like:
DVD-RW= Can write CD and DVD
DVD-R= Can only read DVD's
CD-R= Can only read cd's.
CD-RW- Can write CD's only.
you can try two solutions
1) go to device manager and uninstall the primary and secondary ide controller under the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers and than restart the system and than chk it if that works out
2 ) if the first option doesnt work try to update the firmware of the drive
