You don't need a cable.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

What kind of cell phone is it? It's a smartphone, right?
If you're using an android, you can simply download pictures from your phone to your computer by connecting them via a USB cable. Then drag and drop the pics to your PC.
If you're an iPhone user, you can finish the transfer via iTunes or 3rd party iTransfer tool.

Of course, you can also use email or Dropbox to send pictures no matter what device you're on.

How to Transfer Pictures or Video from your Cellphone/Mobile to your Computer

With the increasing quality of Cellphone camera's , more and more people are wanting to copy their pictures from their phone's to their computers.

There are basically 4 ways to accomplish this.

  1. USB Cable
  2. Bluetooth
  3. Card Transfer
  4. E-mail
# 1 USB Cable

One of the most convenient ways to transfer your pictures is to use the USB cable if your phone was supplied with one. If your phone was not bought with a cable , you can purchase the cable from the store where the the phone was bought.

You will usually also need the manufacturer's software like Nokia pc suite for Nokia phones which can be downloaded from the website of the manufacturer. Here is a list for the most popular phone brands sites.

Nokia
Samsung
Sony-Erricson
Motorola
LG

Many phones also support the option to use the phone as a flash drive so to speak. When you insert a cable , the mobile would typically ask in what mode to use the cable in for instance : Print , Storage or Nokia mode. If you select the storage mode , you may transfer your pictures from the phone the same way you would from a flash drive.

# 2 Bluetooth

If you are using a laptop or bluetooth enabled PC , using bluetooth can also be a handy way to transfer your pictures. To do this , enable bluetooth on you computer and from the taskbar , right click on the bluetooth icon and select recieve a file.

Then on your phone , go the the picture or video you want to send and select options and send via bluetooth. This will vary from phone to phone , so look around for the send with bluetooth option.

Your phone will then search for a computer in range and once you have found your computer , hit the send button.

The transfer will then take place and your computer will ask you where to save the image.

# 3 Card Transfer

Most phones these days have a removable memory card. This is a easy way to transfer a large amount of content from your phone to your computer.

Simply remove the SD or Micro SD card from your phone (refer to your manual) and insert it into a external card reader or your laptop's built in card reading unit.

You may also need a micro to sd converter which can be bought either with a micro SD card or separately from most chain department stores.

You will then be able to transfer the content like you would from your digital camera.

# 4 E-mail

If your cellphone supports e-mail and it is set up , and you only need to transfer one or two pictures , e-mail can be very helpful.

To do this , go to the image you wish to send and in the options , select send via e-mail. This option differs between brands and models so check your manual. You can then simply send the picture to your PC e-mail address and retrieve the image from there.

Please remember to rate this tip if you found it useful.

How do I download my pictures on my phone to my computer

You need a cable that plugs into your phone and with a standard USB connection to your computer. That will connect your phone to the computer, and hopefully your computer will recognize that phone. Second, you need software that will be able to how was your pictures. Most computers already have some sort of picture software. Then follow the prompts, for the download. Or you can drag and drop using Explorer? That is if you have a Windows operating system. With little information, we can't assist you very well. What kind of phone do you have and what kind of computer do you have?

sounds like you have a usb cable for charging only. You need a "2 way " usb cable, the kind used to transfer music and pictures to and from phone to computer. These one way cables are usually used in mobile chargering,as you don`t need to transfer things, just charge.Or you got wrong cable for your phone.

My camera doesn't transfer pictures to my computer

Hello and welcome to FixYa

Please go to a electronics store and buy a USB card reader. I bought one last week and it cost $0.5 so its cheap as dirt. Then simply remove the card from your camera , pop it into the reader and the pictures will appear on a drive like a flashdrive in your my computer folder.

This is a much better option than using the camera's cable as it is faster , safer , saves on your camera battery and you don't need to install any software or drivers.
