What are you putting the oil in? The compressor takes regular non-detergent oil, and it should have a dipstick or a site glass. The guns on the other hand, take the pneumatic oil, and most of them now days, don't even take oil. Only the older ones. I haven't changed or touched the oil in my compressor in 20 years. Any of them. Check it out.

Emglo AM78 4CHV oil capacity

I just rebuilt my Emglo AM78 4CHV, new pressure switch, unloaded, check valve, aftercooler, and changed the #30 oil, It takes 4oz.
Runs like new after not cutting in/out correctly and purging air before reaching 125 psi. Kicked it down to 115 max psi via main spring setting. Don't need 125 for trim nailing and siding.
FYI don't use cheaper generic 125 psi pressure switch from Amazon!!

Yes you can use synthetic oil in you compressor. Emglo just has their name on it. Its ok to use.

Emglo compressor starts but stalls quickly after

Its not getting fuel. There is a low oil shut off switch as well that go bad. most just bypass this unit. its connected to the on off switch as a 3rd leg. try that
if not check your fuel delivery. either the fuel line pet **** is closed/ clogged or a stuck needle in the carb is causing no fuel
