Sony DCR-DVD105 Transfer to Macbook

I need to transfer video from my Sony Handycam DCR-DVD105 to my Macbook pro so I bought a firewire cable. The firewire cable fits in my macbook but it doesn't fit into my video camera. Is there a sort of adapter that I can buy to connect my camera to the firewire cable? Or is there an easier way to transfer the video to my macbook because I can't stick the mini dvd into my dvd slot. Thanks

This is a real pain! I have consulted with Sony, Mac, every electrical shop in my area and no-one has an answer.  I cannot believe that major stores selling the Sony camera with the tricky semi-circular AV connection do not have the cables or at least access to them. Equally, Sony themselves have offered me conflicting advice which was al absolutely useless.

I have the same problem--no way to get the video from the camcorder with the mini disk to my MacBook.  Isn't there some adapter or device to link the two?  Please help!

If you want to transfer video using a firewire you need a 1394 connection on your PC. The Sony DCR-HC21 will also allow you transfer video using a usb cable.

SONY HANDYCAM DCR-DVD105 ERROR MSG C:13:02

Try to use a cotton swap to 1st clean the recording lens or blow gently on it. Place an empty disc in, format the disc, record a little scene. Turn off camcorder. Place the error disc in the camcorder, turn on the camcorder all the way to play/edit. If this doesn't work turn it to record and try to record. Worked for some of my error disc

How to connect a macbook pro and a handycam DCR-DVD105.

If your cam has a firewire connection, you could plug it into the macbook and use iMovie to transfer the videos over. You can also get an external DVD drive to put those tiny DVDs into to transfer it over.

Can I send data from the Handycam DCR-DVD105 to my macbookpro???

Hi!
Unfortunately, your camera does not have a USB jack, and does not have any way to transfer digital data from the disc to your Macbook.
I'd suggest loading your disc to a computer with a non-slot loading dvd drive, download your footage there, and either burning the data to a regular-sized dvd or putting the data in a flash drive to transfer it to you Macbook.
Hope this helps!
