I have preloaded the replacement hinge, but it appears that to remove the old hinge it must be unloaded. If that is true, how do you load the new hinge while it is on the door?

I didn't think the hinge was on the door, it is usually on the oven and the door just slips down on it, and the door becomes the lever to work the pressure of the hinge. Did you get the door off yet? Just open it to the first rest, and pull up on it, it should come right off, the spring loaded hinges are on the oven like a mousetrap. Don't get you fingers in the way. They are hard to open with no door in place, but it can be done. Slide the door back on the hinges, you should be all set. I hope this is what you got going there.

1. Step 1 Open the oven door and examine the hinges to see how the they are secured to the door. Some oven doors slide into the hinge assembly or have a locking mechanism that secures the door to a latch on the main unit.
   
2. Step 2 Remove the door from the oven by disengaging the locking mechanism and then pull the oven door out. You may need to release a catch on the door or remove a pin from a hole in the hinge.
   
3. Step 3 Place the door on a flat surface such as a table or the floor.
   
4. Step 4 Remove the screws that hold the sections of the door together to access the hinges.
   
5. Step 5 Remove the hinges from the door. The hinges may be attached to the door with screws or they may be held in place when the door sections are tightened or secured.
   
6. Step 6 Insert the new hinges into the door and secure them with the screwdriver or place the section of door back on. Tighten all of the screws securing the sections together.
   
7. Step 7 Place the oven door back into place by sliding it on the same way that it came off.

Follow the procedure below,

Open the oven door and grasp the sides with one hand on each side. Lift the door up to remove it from the hinges. Set the door out of the way.
Remove the range top by unscrewing the attaching bolt on the front door flange with a socket wrench. The screws are located in the upper corners, where the door closes.
Slide the top of the range forward about 6 inches from the control panel. Locate the wiring harness from the range top to the control panel. Disconnect it by pushing in on the plastic tab and pulling it apart. Grasp the top panel with both hands and lift it from the stove. Set it aside in a safe place.
Remove the screws on the rear edge of each side panel that connects the side to the rear of the stove. Also remove the screw on each end cap of the control with a screwdriver. Lift the side panel up, removing it from the key hole tabs on the front, and set to the side.
Remove the two hex head screws that attach the hinge to the front of the oven using a socket wrench. They are located above and below the hinge.
Install the new hinges by attaching them with the hex head screws.
Line up the side panel with the front panel key hole and set it in place. Attach the side panel to the rear of the stove with the attaching screws and reattach the console ends with a single screw on each side.
Place the top panel back on the oven. Connect the control panel wires to the range top by pushing the connector back together. Slide the top panel back into position.
Secure the top panel by reattaching the screws under the front flange. Open the ends of the hinges with your finger at about a 45 degree angle. Set the door in the hinges and close the door.
Reconnect the power to the range and slide the range back into its position.
