Error message 30-02-29

The zoomed lense won't retract back. It makes 2 second-buzzing noise for 3times, trying to retract, and shows Error message saying
"Error 00-00-00 30-02-29". I experienced the same problem about 2 years ago and fixed. It's doing it again.

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

You can also have a look at THIS link.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance.

Regards
Andrea

Pentax Optio S6 re-occuring problem

Greetings...

Here is the information on the lens system for the Pentax...

The Sliding Lens system is a proprietary PENTAX lens system that offsets the central lens groups from the optical lens axis and retracts the lens in two steps in the cylinder for minimized overall body depth.

I think from what you have stated, the lens system is off track, hense the noise and the blurry image...

Hope this is helpful...

Finepix A400

If the "!ZOOM ERROR" message is displayed on the digital camera, switch the camera off and on again 2 or 3 times.
If this does not clear the error, take the camera to your nearest FUJIFILM Service Station for testing and repairs. Problem may caused by lens zooming gears stuck.

Zoom Error

We had this problem for about 2 weeks, we discovered that having the camera auto retracted after the "ZOOM ERROR" message, giving the camera couples of light slaps (slap the camera's LCD side and aim the camera down), this fixed the camera right away

"lens error" on casio ex-z3

Sorry to say but a lens error actually is a problem that you cannot fix at home. When a lens error occurs, the motors inside that make the lens retract and protract were some how damaged, usually caused if the lens try coming out when you have it in your pocket or against a surface so it cant fully come out. You will have to send the camera in for service and you can do that by calling 1-800-706-2534, option 1.
