"lens error" on casio ex-z3

Sorry to say but a lens error actually is a problem that you cannot fix at home. When a lens error occurs, the motors inside that make the lens retract and protract were some how damaged, usually caused if the lens try coming out when you have it in your pocket or against a surface so it cant fully come out. You will have to send the camera in for service and you can do that by calling 1-800-706-2534, option 1.

How to unlock sim card on a camera

SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

If that doesn't work, try another card.

Lens Error

Is the lens stuck? Try to unstick the lens by gently pushing it in or pulling it out a little bit. IF that fails, the gears are too misaligned to repair it without opening it.

If you're out of warranty, there are third party place that replace them such as camera lens repairs.

If you want to do it yourself, there are also free camera repair guide websites that show you how to replace the lens, the replacement part is usually available on ebay.

Will not charge, light flashes red and will not

Without running a power diagnostic this is only an educated guess, but it sounds like your batteries are worn out or shorted so that they cannot accept a charge. Check them with a voltmeter or continuity checker if possible, but if the batteries are more than a year old you should probably just replace them.

Casio Exilim EX-Z3 not working (accidentally dropped on carpet)

Does the lens retract when you shut the camera off? Or at least press the On/Off button?

It doesn't sound like there is a problem with the lens if your buttons aren't working, it sounds mostly to me that a cable got dislodged and that has disabled your buttons and zoom switch.

You can try sending it to this guy - www.darntoothysam.com he might beable to help you.

I have the exact same problem. Casio wants the camera mailed in and charges $79 for a new LCD screen (if that is the problem). Any other suggestions?
