I bought some United Kingdom videos that are legitimate videos, but cannot play them on my yamaha dvd player. The dvd player is a yamaha 5650. Is there a code that can be input to allow for english video series?

You will need to run a program that will disable the region lock inside your computer. One such program is DVDexploder. I am not sure if it is ok to discuss such things on here so I will let you "google" it. You can also check this guide out here BASIC REGION FREE INFO

The player with Image046.jgp, looks like the SA31xx series.

When it's an audio player only, it will be the SA3123.
For exact type (Functions and Drivers & Software could be different !):
United Kingdom: SA3123/02
United States: SA3123/37

If the device can play both audio and video, it could be either the SA3124 or the SA3125.
For exact type (Functions and Drivers & Software could be different !):
United Kingdom: SA3124/02 or SA3125/02
United States: SA3124/37 or SA3125/37 or SA3125/37B

When selecting the User manual, the model SA3123 is not listed on the first page in the pdf file, becaus it will have no video function (video, only on players, ending with 4 or 5)

Wrong region dvd. Look, all manufactures of electronics make the item for sale of a specific region. For example: A Canadian dvd will work on a United States dvd player, because it's basically the same region. But try playing a dvd shipped to Australia, United KIngdom, Japan, etc. Do you see where I'm trying to go at here? If you moved, or baught a pirated dvd (just saying), it may not work. Because different countries, product makers make them differently for THAT specific region. Check your dvd out, where you bought it from. If it was online, check where it came from.

I have similar equipment.

You should use an audio digital cable to connect the bluray to the Yamaha receiver and another digital audio cable to connect the HD box to the Yamaha receiver.

I live in Pakistan and can upgrade firmware if required.

i need to know if this dvd player will play movies (specifically) dvd's from other countries...like the united kingdom, australia, etc. or if it will only play movies made in the usa and sold in the usa. i'm trying to purchase some dvd's on ebay and i don't want to buy something i won't be able to watch and there are no refunds once purchased. if you know the answer to my question please let me know a.s.a.p.

Did you try going thru the setup portion of the owners manual? IF you need the manual you can get it online free. I realize sometimes people read the manuals and don't understand the technical jargon.
