My kids always want popcorn for a snack. I bought this model convection oven 1 yr ago and cannot get popcorn to pop it either burns it or leaves all kernels. I have tried the popcorn key and without the key nothing works. What is causing this?
Placing the bag on an inverted glass bowl or pyrex casserole dish worked!!!!! For 2 years, I have cursed my Dacor microwave for its inability to make popcorn (burns a hole in the bag, bag stays flat, almost no kernels pop, etc...) I read the last suggestion to use the glass plate and I am now sitting with a bowl full of perfectly popped popcorn - with only 1 kernel unpopped. The metal tray in the microwave conducts too many waves through the bag I guess.
Thanks for the solution!
It worked!!!!! Placing the bag on an inverted glass bowl. I was so upset that this expensive microwave can't even pop popcorn. Thanks :)
Elevate the popcorn by setting the bag on an inverted glass plate.
Abita beer rocks!
Use the power level settings to turn power down to about 75-80%. Then pop (regular size) for a bout 3-4 min. Listen to the pops when it slows to 2-3 seconds between pops- remove.

Yes! The popcorn bag stays flat and a small burn hole will appear in it. I have tried both a set time and the popcorn button. I also have tried to put if up on the small wire rack to get more circulation. That helps a bit...but still leaves unpoped kernels and skortched paper on the bag.
I miss my popcorn button; one that works properly.
